Aesthetic Biomedical Professional Doubled Her Clinic's Size in 1 Year

“Anyone who loves caring for people will love Aesthetic Biomedicine too.” That is the advice Aesthetic Biomedical Professional Luana Andressa Galani gives to new health students. She was one of the first students of the Nepuga Postgraduate Program and in a short time expanded her aesthetics clinic.

Unafraid of what was unknown at the time, she went after her goal. She believed in the potential of the specialization and trusted the teachings of Dr. Ana Carolina Puga. Now, she makes a point of stressing: “Today, it's 7 years of practice with excellent results.”

To learn more about this aesthetic biomedical professional's success story, read the sections below.

The Biomedical Professional

Luana graduated in Biomedicine from Fasipe, in Sinop (Mato Grosso). After her degree, Aesthetic Biomedicine was approved as a specialization in the field, as a result of the efforts of Dr. Ana Carolina Puga, known as the Mother of Aesthetic Biomedicine in our country.

On her résumé, Dr. Ana holds the patent for the “Facial Rejuvenation Protocol with Botulinum Toxin” methodology and for “PugaCode.” Because of this pioneering role in the market, she became a reference, and that is how Luana found her, as we will see below.

“Nepuga was one of the few institutions that had the Postgraduate Program in Aesthetic Biomedicine,” she recalls. “And that was good because we became the first students able to practice Aesthetic Biomedicine,” she adds.

The Specialization

The aesthetic biomedical professional says that specializing in the field of aesthetics brought several positives to her life, especially when it comes to comfort, quality of life and achievements.

“After just one year in the first clinic, which was 80 m², we moved to a bigger space of 200 m². Besides that, it was through Aesthetic Biomedicine that we achieved a lot, like owning our home, traveling and even opening the new clinic.”

What helps explain this highly expressive and growing market is the numbers. According to ABIHPEC (the Brazilian Association of the Personal Hygiene, Perfumery and Cosmetics Industry), the Aesthetic Health market has grown almost 600% in recent years.

In fact, the Brazilian aesthetics sector is considered the 3rd largest in the world, behind only the United States and China. Trends in aesthetic treatments are increasingly common, producing good results in a non-invasive way.

The Clinic

Currently, the aesthetic biomedical professional has two clinics. One specializes in Advanced Aesthetics, where she performs various body, facial and harmonization treatments. The team is made up of 6 multidisciplinary professionals. The other is a hair therapy clinic.

The idea of having your own aesthetics business is very common in Brazil because it is one of the most profitable. To get an idea of this, the story above is an example. Luana not only doubled the size of her aesthetics clinic but also opened a new unit.

Online research shows that an Aesthetic Biomedical Professional can earn a monthly income above R$ 4,000 when working as a self-employed professional/specialist. Once they become a technical lead, the salary rises to more than R$ 7,500.

But it is in entrepreneurship, by opening a new clinic, that they can reach new levels. In Brazil, a clinic specializing in aesthetics can bring in more than R$ 45,000. And in Luana's case, the projections don't stop there.

The Future

Looking ahead, Luana says she envisions expanding the clinics, including adding more professionals and technologies. “The growth expectation is very big.” Unable to give more details, the entrepreneur offers a small spoiler: “There are prospects for franchises.”

Right here on the blog we have already mentioned several stories of healthcare professionals who invested in their careers and are success stories today. We have set some of them aside for you to enjoy later, take a look.

“In the field of pathology, we have no flexibility. Besides, we are stuck with diseases.” That is the statement of Paloma Almeida Venancio Martins. She saw in Aesthetic Biomedicine the chance to have more autonomy and greater financial return.

“We make money while having fun because it's a pleasure. Aesthetics is captivating. Studying and discovering protocols, seeing the before and after, is fantastic.” That is what Nândia Yared Martins says, who traded 20 years in the laboratory for a career in aesthetics.
