The Aesthetic Biomedical Professional

Dina Lúcia da Silva Prazeres is a biomedical professional who worked for more than a decade at a hospital, but chose to move into aesthetics because she wanted to spend more time with her children. “Today I'm 51 years old and I'm very happy with my life and my profession.”

It all began back in 1994, when she graduated in Biomedicine from the University of Mogi das Cruzes (SP). Then she started working in a blood bank inside a Santa Casa (charitable hospital). But the routine of shifts did not suit her.

“My children were teenagers and I wanted to have more time for them. At the hospital, that was very hard because there were a lot of shifts.”

What she did was think of an alternative. She came up with the idea of the Postgraduate Program in Aesthetic Biomedicine, which would be an opportunity to change her routine without having to change professions. And the first step toward that was the specialization in aesthetics.

The Postgraduate Program

After 12 years inside the hospital, the change in Dina's life happened. “When I searched on Google about the Aesthetic Biomedicine field, Nepuga came right up. At first it only had courses in Sertãozinho, but soon it opened in São Paulo. That was a wonderful experience.”

Here you can see that the aesthetic biomedical professional was one of Nepuga's first students in the São Paulo capital. She was part of the 2nd Class of the Postgraduate Program in Aesthetic Biomedicine in São Paulo. That is, this was when she specialized in aesthetics. And about those years of study, Dina remembers them well: “United students and incredible professors.”

From there, the stages unfolded over time. And that was when Dina took another step forward: entrepreneurship. She decided to rent a room for just one day a week to start her aesthetic appointments, and the idea took off.

The New Career

“I needed to start slowly. I didn't have the financial means to pay a monthly rent. And I opted for that kind of limited rental for practically a year.”

And after 12 months, the aesthetic biomedical professional's client/patient base became more robust. From there, reinvesting in her own dream of owning her own business, she secured a new contract. Now, to rent the room for the entire month. And so she worked for another year.

A third important step in this venture came with a market opportunity. Dina learned of a room for rent inside a business center, which fit her goal of serving her patients with higher quality. She closed the deal!
