Maximila de Almeida Trandafilov graduated in Biological Sciences in the Medical-Biomedicine track in 1995 from the Universidade de Mogi das Cruzes (SP). Later, in 2013, she took the Postgraduate Program in Aesthetic Biomedicine with Dr. Ana Carolina Puga, in São Paulo. And today she wants to become a reference in aesthetics.
In this text, we will tell her story in a different way. For each topic, we brought a quote from the aesthetic biomedical professional. That way, you can follow the most important steps in the career of this successful professional. Read carefully.
Maximila Trandafilov's story
Maximila had already worked in hospitals, laboratories, and ICUs. She has also worked in administration and management of diagnostic imaging clinics. However, she was not happy with her day-to-day work and decided to change.
See how she chose the course.
“I was sick of my job. I went on the CRBM [Regional Council of Biomedicine] website and saw there were other specializations within my field, like Aesthetics. Since Dr. Ana is a reference on this subject, I called her and asked a few questions.”
Specializing with someone who is already a reference in aesthetics.
“I enrolled in the course in July 2013 in São Paulo. I chose Nepuga because Dr. Ana Carolina is a national reference. She is the pioneer of Aesthetic Biomedicine. A heavyweight name in our career in aesthetics.”
The biomedical professional loved the postgraduate classes and gave them her approval.
“It's an excellent Postgraduate Program. I recommend it. It's a serious, established institution, with top-level professors and excellent facilities for classes. It even has hands-on classes. I found the program very complete, both in subjects and materials.”
The field of aesthetics is very broad.
“It's a very vast field. You have several paths to follow. If you specialize in something you identify with most and absolutely love, then you will do the work well. Aesthetics has many branches for people to choose from.”
Many professionals can be a reference in aesthetics.
“I have friends who identify more with body treatments or facial ones or laser or other technologies and even the holistic side. Nowadays, the SUS (Brazil's public health system) recognizes several complementary therapies because it considers the human being as a whole.”
Nepuga opened doors and today she has been in aesthetics for a decade.
“As soon as I started working at an aesthetics clinic, I also enrolled in the Postgraduate Program. That way, all doors open and Nepuga carries great weight in that.”
A laboratory wanted to hire someone who had studied at Nepuga.
“I once had the opportunity to work at a pharmaceutical laboratory, in the production of sterile injectables, at the invitation of one of the partners. And they wanted someone who had done a postgraduate program at Nepuga. I was even startled because I hadn't sent my résumé to that company.”
With experience, she began teaching.
“I taught in vocational technical courses for 5 years. I also taught at the university, in the undergraduate aesthetics program, for 3 years. In the last year I even became the program coordinator. All of this thanks to everything I learned at Nepuga.”
And all of this is just the beginning for the aesthetic biomedical professional.
“My projections for aesthetics are to improve even more. Including in facial harmonization. But I also like palliative aesthetics, since restoring people's self-esteem is of utmost importance. Today, my clientele is mostly older women.”
Having her own aesthetics clinic is part of her plans.
“My goal is to have my own space and become a reference in facial harmonization. I find it magical. You transform a lip instantly. I've had clients who cried with joy when they saw the mirror. That is very rewarding.”
Maximila wants to learn more.
“Another area I really like is laser. Laser treatments are fantastic. Whether for hair removal, tattoo removal, rejuvenation, and even the intimate area, which is in high demand. That is one of the things I like and want to specialize in more.”
And she wants to be a reference in aesthetics!
“I've taught my whole life since college. Then, after finishing the postgraduate program, I taught in the vocational technical course. Then I was invited to teach in the undergraduate aesthetics program, where I was promoted to program coordinator. All of this is what keeps me motivated for the new challenge: becoming a reference in aesthetics and being remembered in teaching, because I really love to teach.”
