Aesthetic Biomedical Professional Balances Her Aesthetic Health Career with Family in São Paulo-SP

The Postgraduate Program is usually one of the main dreams of many health professionals. Becoming an aesthetic biomedical professional, for example, and gaining financial autonomy and schedule flexibility was one of the goals of Dr. Nathascia Maretto Carmello, from São Paulo-SP.

But much more than that, beyond just being professionally fulfilled, the aesthetic biomedical professional's dream was to build a family and find the best way to balance it with her career.

But to find the best solution, Aesthetic Biomedicine, she had to nearly set aside one of her dreams to feel that something was missing in her life. Learn Dr. Nathascia's story in this Success Story.

Aesthetic Biomedicine: A Profession That Unites Career and Family

While still in her biomedicine undergraduate studies, Dr. Nathascia began working at a clinical analysis laboratory and stayed there until mid-2020. That same year, the biomedical professional became pregnant and had to leave her job.

Thinking of her family's well-being and a better way to devote herself to them, Dr. Nathascia decided to leave the clinical analysis field for good because of the exhausting routine it involves.

“As soon as my daughter was born, I was already bored of staying at home, because someone who has always worked wants to go back to a routine and can't sit still. So I started looking for biomedical job openings on the internet, and out of every 10 openings I found, 8 were for Aesthetic Biomedicine”, says Dr. Nathascia.

Seeing that the job market was looking for aesthetic biomedical professionals, she started researching the career, the opportunities and what she would need to get qualified.

“I saw that I would have the chance to improve financially and in my personal life too, because I could set my own hours and take care of my daughter more calmly”, she noted.

Mother, Aesthetic Biomedical Professional and Entrepreneur

Once she realized this was the career she wanted to follow, she sought out the Postgraduate Program in Aesthetic Biomedicine and began to specialize. To stand out more and more in the job market, you have to commit to your studies, since aesthetic professionals need to always be up to date on industry news.

Even though she started the postgraduate program in the middle of the pandemic, she was still able to absorb all the knowledge and already feel how advantageous Aesthetic Biomedicine will be for her life.

“I started the postgraduate program and then the pandemic came. It messed up my plans a bit, but now everything is going back to normal and I'm taking the hands-on classes and enjoying them more and more”, reveals the aesthetic biomedical professional.

After finishing her Postgraduate Program in Aesthetic Biomedicine, Dr. Nathascia gave the “kickoff” and opened Clínica Berluz in partnership with her sister, Dr. Nathany Moretto, who is a dentist. The clinic is in São Bernardo do Campo-SP and focuses on Advanced Aesthetics and Dentistry.

“Through aesthetics, I truly hope to gain my autonomy and schedule flexibility, because when I chose to build a family I knew I would need it, especially with a small child at home now. Besides, I know the financial side is also extremely important,” she says.

The aesthetic biomedical professional also advises that, for those who wish and dream of being owners of their own business, living a healthy life and building a family, Aesthetic Health is a great career alternative.

“I also worked at a hospital for a while, and the 12/36 shift schedule makes your routine much more complicated for combining work and family. It's very hard to balance schedules and to have weekends and holidays”, she concludes.

The aesthetic biomedical professional says her financial return is growing as she reaches more patients, but that her goal of achieving greater schedule flexibility and professional autonomy that lets her spend more time with her daughter and family has already been met.
