Are there limits to achieving a dream? Not for Isabelle Pavani. The aesthetic biomedical professional sold truffles to pay for her undergraduate studies and revealed that earning her degree was very hard.
Since childhood Isabelle felt an affinity for the health field, but it was in high school that she became certain she would pursue a career caring for people. Already in her prep course she discovered biomedicine and fell in love.
Isabelle received a scholarship to study biomedicine at a college near her hometown, but because of financial difficulties she had to work as an entrepreneur throughout her degree, selling sweets and clothing online.
Today, specializing in Aesthetic Biomedicine, she says she is grateful for the opportunities life has given her and hopes to soon begin her path in the world of aesthetics with a space that reflects her style and become a reference as an aesthetic biomedical professional in her region.
How supporting a friend led to a scholarship in Biomedicine
Isabelle Pavani is a recent biomedicine graduate. Completing her degree in 2022, she followed a path full of determination and perseverance to reach her goals in health care.
Since she was a child, Isabelle felt her calling would be a career as a health professional. However, while in high school, specifically her senior year, she faced doubt about which of the countless paths within health care to follow.
After leaving school and starting a prep course for the college entrance exam, Isabelle discovered Biomedicine and was enchanted. It was during this same period that she also came into contact with aesthetics, which she says was always one of her interests.
During the entrance exam prep course, Isabelle, to support a friend, took the dentistry exam and did very well, winning a 90% scholarship in that field. A big discount, but dentistry was not her goal. Her true dream was to study biomedicine, and after an unexpected twist, because of her strong performance on the exam, the college administration decided to grant her a 60% discount if she wanted to enroll in the biomedicine program. This opportunity was an incredible achievement because at that time her family was going through some financial problems and could not have afforded the full cost of the program.

Aesthetic biomedical professional sold truffles to cover transportation costs
With her mother's unconditional support, Isabelle began her university journey, facing financial and logistical challenges. To supplement her income and cover expenses such as transportation (she lived in Ituverava and studied in Franca) and tuition, with an entrepreneurial mindset she began selling sweets, taking advantage of her mother's cooking skills.
She says this was the moment of greatest dedication and determination from her family so that she could complete her degree. A time came when sweets were no longer in Isabelle's plans, and at that moment she had a new idea. Setting aside word-of-mouth sales of sweets, she opened an online clothing store to help cover her study expenses.
“When I received the college's offer, my mother told me I should try, that everyone would make an effort so I could continue my studies. I started selling truffles at the time to pay for transportation to the city, but I didn't identify with that process and decided to open an online clothing store. And that new project helped me pay the expenses I had with my degree ”.
Lab night shifts and exhaustion in the classroom did not make her quit
During her degree, Isabelle got an internship at a laboratory as a Technician. Her skills led to her being hired permanently, which was a big step forward in her career, but the difficulties remained. Isabelle had been assigned to the night shift and began working from seven at night until five in the morning. As soon as she got off work she went straight to college and studied until one in the afternoon, when she went home to rest.
“They hired me for a night shift. It was a lot of hours at night, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. From there I went straight to class, very tired, but I tried hard to learn as much as I could. I could only really rest after lunchtime, when I finally got home, but then the routine started all over again, and that's how it was for a long time”.
Despite the long days of internships, studies and night work at the laboratory, Isabelle persisted. The exhaustion was constant, but her determination was greater. And finally, when she received her diploma, she experienced a mix of indescribable emotions, becoming the first in her family to graduate, moving even her father, who rarely showed his feelings.

Aesthetic biomedicine is just the beginning
Now graduated, Isabelle decided to pursue the second part of her dream of taking the Postgraduate Program in Aesthetic Biomedicine. Coming face to face with the world of aesthetics, she says she faces uncertainties about some important questions, such as becoming a great specialist in the field. She has the solution for that. Isabelle takes part in various courses and has the support of mentors, all to hone her skills.
“The clinical immersions have been very good, I'm learning a lot here. I made many friends with people from other specialties and that creates extra knowledge for our skills”.
Isabelle's new goal is to establish a renowned aesthetic clinic offering high-quality services. And after completing her specialization, she aims to combine her passion and become a leading aesthetic biomedical professional in her city.
