Dr. Cristiane Vieira is an aesthetic nurse, graduated more than 15 years ago, with a postgraduate degree in Aesthetic Nursing. She is also a business owner, and chose Aesthetic Nursing to gain more knowledge in the beauty field.
In 2001, she completed her Bachelor's and Teaching Degree in Nursing at UFMG (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais), and worked in 3 large hospitals in Belo Horizonte, holding roles such as: Administrative Supervisor of surgical units; Nurse responsible for implementing the Continuing Education service and Nursing Coordinator in the operating room and the central sterile supply department (CME).

Today, the alumna shares how the experience of changing careers began. “I held positions with intense demands, practically ‘exclusive dedication’ because of the hours and the role. Changes in work processes and a new management team led to my leaving the company, where I had completed 09 years.”
After leaving, the doctor began searching for a new professional path. “Right after I left, I looked for an educational institution to improve my knowledge in business management, because I was determined to open a business in the beauty industry. At first, I chose a nail salon, because I noticed a gap in this area, especially when it comes to biosafety.”.
The work flowed and, over time, she saw an opportunity to expand. Although she wasn't quite sure which path to follow, she wanted to combine all the knowledge she had gained in nursing with the beauty field. “I started searching on social media to understand the current landscape and define prospects for the future, when I came across Nepuga.”
Why did she choose to pursue aesthetic nursing?
“I chose NEPUGA because of testimonials from former students and the prestige of the founder, Ma. Dr. Ana Carolina Puga; also, the course wasn't very long and the curriculum was very rich, so Aesthetic Nursing could be the turning point in my professional path.”
She is currently a partner and owner of Instituto BioChic, located in the central-south region of Belo Horizonte/MG. The business has been operating since 2013 and came from the desire to see people's well-being with differentiated care based on Biosafety and Caring, since our focus would be enhancing our clients' beauty.
“As a healthcare professional, I sought other training and in 2013 I founded Instituto BioChic (a space dedicated to Facial and Body Aesthetic Treatment and Wellness). In addition, I see women who struggle with yo-yo dieting, have low self-esteem, and have shaken self-confidence because they can't UNLOCK the needle on the scale. We believe that work processes must be tied to safety and the quality of personalized care.”

Dr. Cristiane points out that the main benefit the postgraduate program brought her was getting out of her comfort zone, reviewing her work plan and making some decisions such as: expanding her workspace, new partnerships, increasing the mix of services focused on facial and body aesthetics, as well as being able to practice her profession in a space she designed herself.
