Dr. Ana Carolina Puga Joins Minas Gerais’ Bora Podcast

Dr. Ana Carolina Puga joins the Minas Gerais podcast Bora Podcast – Dr. Ana has great affection for Belo Horizonte. She visits the city often since the Nepuga campus opened there in 2011, and this time she took the opportunity to appear on one of the state’s biggest podcasts, Bora Podcast.

On the occasion, she also reunited with former postgraduate students and had the pleasure of learning more about their successful careers. Stay tuned, because soon you will learn more about these reunions.

The Minas Gerais Podcast

Hosted by the irreverent Luiz Carlos Silva and directed by social media analyst and biologist Roger Henrique, Bora Podcast is produced in the studios of channel 98and airs both on TV and on the YouTube channel dedicated to the podcast, in addition to being available on different music and podcast streaming platforms.

Yesterday (the 26th), it was also broadcast on radio 98.3 FM, starting at 10:00 p.m. Be sure to check it out on your preferred medium – especially the conversation with Dr. Ana, which yielded several stories about her career and experiences.

The idea of inviting Dr. Ana came from director Roger Henrique, who, also a biomedical professional, already knew about the achievement the doctor made for biomedical professionals, which also set off the triumph of other professions, such as nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, and biology, which today also have aesthetics as an option for qualification and practice.

A Relaxed Conversation About Aesthetic Health

Throughout the show, Dr. Ana answers questions about aesthetic health, comments on controversies, and even gives tips on how to choose the best professional to perform procedures. On this, she says:

“You have to find out where the professional trained, whether they did a serious postgraduate program – today there are many online postgraduate programs, and who has ever heard of a professional learning to do all this online, without putting a hand on a patient, without practice, without experienced professionals helping and guiding them?”. And she adds:

“When the professional is well trained, the patient is safe. The problem is not the profession of the person doing it, but that professional’s training.”

Thus, Dr. Ana reaffirms that health professionals with training in different professions can be fully qualified to perform procedures with quality and safety.

As long as their training has overlapping competencies that need to be built on to also cover performing and deeply understanding procedures, in addition, of course, to certification issued by the competent council, once the training requirements are met.

Dr. Ana also emphasizes the responsibility of professionals who dedicate themselves to aesthetics:

“We have to know where we want to go, and qualify ourselves as much as we can to be able to do it, because you have a responsibility in your hands, which is the patient’s life”. And she adds:

“It’s that patient’s dream to have a smaller nose, to have facial harmonization, or to lose weight. I mean, some dream they have there, something that will transform their life, that will change their life, and let it be for the better, not for the worse, so it’s a great responsibility.”

Invisible Beauty

But the conversation didn’t stop there, and went in directions that open up a discussion about aesthetics. Luiz read a question from a viewer who asked about people all starting to look alike because of procedures. Faced with that question, Dr. Ana was able to express her view on beauty standards:

“What has value is not magazine-cover beauty… There are no ugly people, there are depressed people.”

And so the subject opens up to how professionals who work with aesthetic procedures can do a lot to help their patients’ confidence and self-esteem, so that they see themselves as truly beautiful, because they are endowed with confidence and self-esteem.

In addition, Dr. Ana sees that beauty is not about the same face for everyone, that beauty is, yes, even when we talk about procedures, something very particular to each person’s possibilities and needs, and that is where true beauty lies.
