Aesthetic Nursing – pediatric nurse wants to change her life and seeks specialization in aesthetics

Nurses who choose Aesthetic Nursing as a specialization have countless motivations, among which we can highlight a strong thirst for a change of life. Many of these professionals have worked for years on exhausting shifts inside hospitals, and it costs them giving up their own lives and families.

We have already told many stories here in this same context, and in today's Success Story you will learn about the journey of Dr. Tatiane Cristina Mota, from São José dos Campos – SP. Healthcare has always been her passion, but after many years of working the night shift, she wanted to change her life.

And Aesthetics boosts that change, since in this ever-growing sector it is possible to envision and achieve great results and a new routine.

Thinking about and caring for themselves more, having time for family, starting a business and working in their own practice are some of the goals that health professionals who work nights have in common. And in Aesthetic Nursing they find that.

From Pediatrics to Aesthetic Nursing

That is 20 years working as a night-shift nurse and 15 years in pediatrics. There were many parties and important dates marked by Dr. Tatiane's absence. Still, she has always carried out the profession with a lot of love and joy, even with the difficulties.

Even before starting her nursing undergraduate degree she was already a nursing technician and worked as an assistant in the field. Since then, her life has always been working at night and attending college by day. But because she has always loved healthcare so much, she overcame (and still overcomes!) the busy life.

Tatiane says pediatrics came to her in an unexpected way, when a professor invited her to work at a children's hospital where she worked. “I had never thought about working in this field, but it ended up becoming a great love”, the doctor reveals.

Even though she worked with great love and dedication in her chosen field, she still longed for a change of life, given the hectic routine she had kept up for so long on the night shift.

“My biggest challenge is working at night, being a mother, and studying. But one of the things that motivates me the most is my family's support. Because everyone knows that my wish is to leave the hospital and work only in Aesthetics”, she says.

That is why this year Dr. Tatiane decided to take the first step in the search for a change of life. “The thirst for change came with age, I went through quarantine and with it came vanity too, so I started reading about it, reflected on the possibilities, and my daughter's age (eight) and my desire to leave the night shift helped me decide to change my life completely”, she adds.

Aesthetic Nursing – Moving Toward Change

Currently, Dr. Tatiane is continuing in pediatrics while specializing in Aesthetic Nursing. But that work has its days numbered, because by the start of the second half of 2022 the nurse expects to have completed her postgraduate program.

“I am loving the course, it is being a big challenge, because I am starting from scratch”, she reveals.

And after earning her qualification in Aesthetic Nursing, the goal is to start working in the field and offer her services as soon as possible. “I plan to work with aesthetics for real, start small and then, who knows, God willing, have my own aesthetics center,” she concludes.
