Aesthetic Nurse Dr. Mayara Mota de Lima, from Rio de Janeiroalways had the answer on the tip of her tongue when asked about her professional dream. Since she was little, she knew she wanted to be a nurse.
Today the question has changed, and after her training, she has an answer to the doubt: What can I do to grow? This is also a question for many nurses, held hostage by long hours of exhausting shifts.
Aesthetic Nursing is the answer for this nurse, who specialized to achieve professional success, greater visibility and financial return as well. “There's room for everyone. We can go far with a little dedication,” she said.
Find out how the Aesthetic Nurse achieved professional success in this success story.
The Aesthetic Nurse and Nursing
Dr. Mayara fell in love with nursing as a child, at a time when she had to be hospitalized. Even though she was small, the Aesthetic Nurse noticed every detail of the care she received from the nurses and other professionals.
Her childhood outlook turned into love for her profession, based on affection and inspiration. “The professionals were essential,” she said.
At first, she even confused her professional feelings, because she thought she wanted to be a physician, but she gave up on the idea. “I found out that a doctor takes care of diseases, but a nurse takes care of sick people,” she said. “And my thing is taking care of people,” she said.
Her Discovery of Aesthetic Nursing
Before investing in the field to become an Aesthetic Nurse, Dr. Mayara built a stable career, seizing every opportunity.
She did an internship at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics – Into, in Rio de Janeiro. This was the first step on her path toward Aesthetic Nursing.
Unique Opportunities
During her internship, the Aesthetic Nurse was recommended by the physiotherapist of a 70-year-old patient to work in home care, and also at the Botafogo Plastic Surgery Hospital.
According to Dr. Mayara, her time working with the team lasted seven months. “She was a polytrauma patient who suffered a trauma at Lagoa, a neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro, and had a dislocated femur,” she said.
And her experience was very well rated, since she was even invited to work at the Leblon Medical Center. “Nursing took me to where I am today,” she said.
The Aesthetic Nurse and the Job Market
Despite having achieved great success as a nurse, Dr. Mayara always knew her professional peak had not yet come. As an Aesthetic Nurse, she can reach even greater heights in the market.
Just like other specialists in Aesthetic Nursing, who are looking for a big change in their lives. “Today I don't work as a nurse, but with two plastic surgeons on the administrative side of an aesthetics practice in Leblon, Rio de Janeiro,” she said.
Aesthetic Nursing vs. Nursing
For Dr. Mayara, the nursing market is still undervalued in hospitals. It also lacks visibility. These are just some of the points that she and other professionals demand every day.
Nursing offers long shifts with low pay, as well as a not very promising job market. Aesthetic Nursing, meanwhile, can guarantee greater success, not just financially but in quality of life.
“Besides the many hours of work, the pay isn't fair. Even more so in the public system, where pay can even be late,” she said. “Nursing is still seen in a pejorative way, unlike aesthetics,” she said.
Now that she can work in a stronger job market like aesthetics, the Aesthetic Nurse can keep growing. “That motivated me to follow what I've always loved: besides taking care of people, also making people look beautiful,” she said.
Plans as an Aesthetic Nurse
Dr. Mayara's plans in Aesthetic Nursing should be carried out with the same mastery she has always shown in her career.
And to stand out and become an entrepreneur in the aesthetics market, she knows it can be a possible dream, especially as an Aesthetic Nurse. “I want to have my own clinic and be an entrepreneur as an aesthetics professional,” she said.
