Aesthetic Biologist Dr. Isabela Espasandin Martins, from Rio de Janeiro, dreamed for a long time of specializing in the aesthetic field.
Even while finishing her doctorate in her field of training, the biologist wasted no time when the Federal Council of Biology (CFBio) regulated Resolution 582/2020.
With Aesthetic Biology, she can reach even greater goals in her career and stand out in one of the most powerful fields in the world.
Find out how Aesthetic Biologist Dr. Isabela invested in specializing in this success story.
Aesthetic Biologist at the start of her career
Dr. Isabela almost became a biomedical professional, as she was torn between biomedicine and biology. The doubt, which is quite common with a first degree, was settled based on a reason from the Aesthetic Biologist, who was thinking long term.
According to her, the broader scope of practice in biology was what motivated her choice. “Everything I can do in biomedicine, I can also do in biology,” she said.
With the choice made, the biologist pursued an academic career with a doctorate, and fell in love with research. “I never really aimed to work with animals or plants, but with human genetics,” she said.
The Aesthetic Biologist and her passion for the field
The Aesthetic Biologist has always loved academia, but her heart also held another dream, the aesthetic field, though that love was forbidden.
At that time, she could not do the specialization because she did not have her Council's authorization to practice. “I have always loved the aesthetics field, mainly because I'm vain,” she said.
With the approval from CFBio for Aesthetic Biology, which is recent, Dr. Isabela can finally develop her skills and competencies to enter the aesthetics market. “When the Council approved it, I was so happy. I rushed to do my specialization,” she said.
The Aesthetic Biologist and the job market
The job market for biologists may not be so promising, much less satisfying. In many cases, these professionals find themselves in limited fields, with little investment, low salaries, almost no visibility, and are still undervalued.
Unlike Aesthetic Biology which, like the other areas of aesthetics, can ensure professional quality, which leads to a higher financial return. That is what the Aesthetic Biologist thinks. “I see that specialists achieve a good life, with good returns. I have always been passionate about it and I want to work in this field,” she said.
Like her, other biologists have also invested in aesthetics to have a broad reach in their careers, such as Dr. Carolina.
The Aesthetic Biologist's plans
In her future plans, Dr. Isabela intends to finish her doctorate but, above all, to continue investing in Aesthetic Biology.
She wants to achieve more and more success in this field, and standing out is one of her greatest ambitions. “Although academia is beautiful and necessary, it has no recognition, but I invested many years of my life in it,” she said.
Love for Aesthetic Biology
According to Dr. Isabela, her journey of knowledge is what makes her more and more enchanted with Aesthetic Biology.
This makes all the difference, since a specialist's development process must keep getting deeper so that procedures can be performed safely. “When I study Aesthetic Biology, I'm doing something I love,” she said.
By developing her skills, she transforms her own life, and she can also help her patients, who are looking for well-being and big changes. “Seeing the person leave the office beautiful and confident, with a sparkle in their eyes, is rewarding,” she said.
The Aesthetic Biologist's purpose is to promote health through aesthetics. “Some people may even see aesthetics as frivolous, but the feeling of well-being pays off in other areas of life too,” she said.
