Nurse takes her first steps in aesthetics, splitting her time between the hospital and her clinic

Letícia Cordeiro de Oliveira is a nurse who lives in the city of Mogi das Cruzes, in São Paulo. She began her career as a nursing assistant, where she worked for many years in various departments within hospitals. Her journey had the unconditional support of her family, who are also part of the health field. With the goal of having more control over her schedule and income, the nurse takes her first steps in aesthetics with her newly opened clinic and, with an entrepreneurial spirit, helps other friends better understand what it is like to take charge of their own destiny.

Passionate about everything nursing encompasses, she kept specializing and even earned a degree in the field to advance in her career. Her greatest influence for nursing was her mother, who has always supported her passion. That fact motivated Letícia to become more competent every day at caring for her patients.

The confidence gained from her family's support and during her degree made Letícia a professional who looks after others as she does for herself. Sure of the path she is charting, she wants more and is now pursuing a specialization in aesthetic nursing to leave the exhausting routine of hospitals and bring new sensations to herself and her patients with her clinic.

Optimistic, Letícia is satisfied with her decisions and guides new colleagues in the profession on the first steps in aesthetics.

How this nurse takes her first steps in aesthetics

Nurse Letícia Cordeiro de Oliveira is one of the most sensitive people we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The way she talks about the profession and patient care is evident. From Mogi das Cruzes, she entered the health field as a nursing assistant. She says her family is part of the field, split between nursing and biomedicine.

Her mother stands out as her main reference. Conversations about the world of nursing sparked Letícia's interest in the profession and she entered the field as an assistant, but her passion kept growing until she pursued the degree and graduated in nursing, which also helped her advance in her work.

Letícia says that when she started working, she was assigned to the Adult Emergency Room. Soon after, she was moved to pediatric care, also in the emergency room, and today she is in the operating room administrative department, but with the same intensity and responsibility.

Since her work covers various departments, given the complexity of work in that environment, dealing with many medical specialties and leading teams (she is currently the direct leader in the department), she faced significant challenges, but also had the opportunity to improve her skills in administration.

However, it was in the field of aesthetics that Letícia found a new horizon. Influenced by the boom in aesthetic nursing and by the desire to have more control over her professional life and time with her family, she decided to explore this branch of nursing. Her particular interest in lip micropigmentation led her to seek qualification in that specific field.
Despite Letícia's strong connection to hospital nursing, she says she felt the need to change. To find a new horizon for her professional life that would let her achieve other goals.

Autonomy and freedom. Aesthetics and professional independence

Dealing daily with the physical and emotional strain that the hospital routine causes is stressful. In this situation, through a recommendation from her sister, Letícia had her first contact with aesthetics. Influenced by the “boom” in aesthetic nursing and by the desire to have more control over her professional life and time with her family, she decided to explore this branch of nursing.

“With the growth of aesthetics in nursing, I became interested. Researching on the internet I came across a lot of information and what stands out is clearly the autonomy I will have over my time and the earnings that aesthetics offers. Spending more time at home, beside my family, is very important to me. I work a 6×1 schedule and it affects me. I chose aesthetics to have more free time.”

The support of her family, especially her sister, an aesthetic biomedical professional, was fundamental on her entrepreneurial journey. Opening her own clinic was a significant milestone, achieved with determination and organization.

“I had a lot of support from my family, it was important. It was very rewarding. Everything was worked out, thought through, but also very fast. In two months I was already able to buy equipment and open the space. Always with organization and focus.”

Letícia shares her experience with those who want to follow the same path, emphasizing the importance of starting even in the face of uncertainties and challenges. Her message is clear: with focus, responsibility and knowledge, it is possible to build a successful future.

“If I could give one tip, it would be: Start. Not everything will wait to happen. We won't be 100% at everything, but that is why we have to seek knowledge, preparing the ground for the victories to come. I always hear a phrase that impacts me: Work 16 hours to build your dream and not other people's dreams.”

And so, Letícia Cordeiro de Oliveira continues her journey, combining her passion for nursing with her growing command of the aesthetic field, building her own path with determination and dedication.
