Newly graduated from the Postgraduate Program in Aesthetic Nursing, Dr. Maria Clara Pacheco is already building her own business and achieving wonderful results in changing her patients' self-esteem, but she is not alone in this. We had the opportunity to interview her at the Belo Horizonte teaching clinic, and we discovered that her journey includes a partner for collaboration and inspiration.
Dr. Maria Clara and fellow nurse Dr. Luísa Costa have known each other since childhood. They were in the same dance group, went through a prep course together, and also through college, strengthening their bond of friendship at every stage.
From the ICU to Aesthetics
Both specialized in Intensive Care, one focused on adults and the other on neonatal care. And they dedicated about 6 years to working in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
“I was already really exhausted, really tired, and I wanted to move forward, I wanted to earn more money, have better hours, I wanted to start my own business. That's why aesthetics caught my attention so much”, says Dr. Maria Clara, who worked at two hospitals before entering aesthetics.

After all this time devoted to physically and mentally exhausting work, Luísa decided to bet on aesthetics, and inspired Maria Clara to do the same. At first, they took courses on eyelash extensions and Hydro Gloss. Together, they started seeing clients initially at one of their homes.
But that was only the beginning; they wanted much more, they wanted to become aesthetics specialists. The path? The Postgraduate Program in Aesthetic Nursing.
Aesthetics Specialists with the Pugacode® Method
Maria Clara finished the specialization first, having dedicated herself so much to the course that, as soon as she finished, she was invited to collaborate with the technical lead of the Belo Horizonte teaching clinic, where she trained, using all her experience and background to also contribute to the training of other professionals.

About her experience throughout the course, she says that Pugacode is a method that reassures her, giving her the foundation to perform injectable procedures safely and effectively. During classes, she also says there is room to clear up any questions that come up, leaving no room for any insecurity that could affect the moment of practice with the patient.
The combination of the Pugacode method with each postgraduate student's dedication is evident in the confidence that makes every Nepuga specialist stand out, achieving the best results in facial harmonization.
Nurses Building Businesses in Aesthetics: What Changes in the Life of Those Who Bet on This Choice?
In addition to collaborating on the training of other professionals, Maria Clara also took an important step after completing the specialization. She and Luísa left home-based service and finally opened their own space, Clínica LM, in Cidade Nova, a neighborhood of Belo Horizonte.
Combining new techniques and procedures with all their experience in care and entrepreneurship, Clínica LM shows increasingly stunning results, enhancing the beauty of its patients. A clear example of the success of nurses building businesses in aesthetics in an ethical, qualified, and responsible way.

Today, Dr. Maria Clara finds much more flexibility to control her own schedule.
“Aesthetics opened paths for me that I never even imagined. I never imagined I'd be able to get out of that heavy reality I was in, not being able to see my family, with so much work, to now have more flexible and more relaxed hours”, she says.
Dr. Luísa is also taking the Postgraduate Program and, little by little, they are expanding their businesses with the goal of dedicating themselves 100% to their own clinic very soon. One more step toward consolidating the leading role of nurses building businesses in aesthetics.
