Aesthetic Biomedicine Professional from SP says: “I get to work less and earn more”

This aesthetic biomedicine professional from SP, who works in the interior of the state, never imagined what her career future would look like. What she was always sure of is that she would work in healthcare, and that she fell in love when she discovered the aesthetics specialization.

Currently, after gaining experience at a franchise, she has her own aesthetics room, in partnership with her sister, who is a dentist. And she already foresees a bright future: “a health and aesthetics clinic that is a reference across the whole region”.

Meet the story of Naylla do Prado, who graduated in Votuporanga, did her postgraduate program in Ribeirão Preto and today has her own room in Nova Luzitânia.

Aesthetic Biomedicine

Naylla do Prado says she always knew she would work in healthcare. And when she saw the biomedicine undergraduate program she identified with the subjects. Today, she holds a biomedicine degree from Unifev (Centro Universitário de Votuporanga), in the interior of São Paulo.

During her undergraduate classes, the aesthetic biomedicine professional from SP discovered the aesthetics specialization. “I remember to this day when we were in a biomedicine week at the university and Dr. Ana Carolina Puga came to give a talk about this new field, which was aesthetics in biomedicine”.

From that moment on, she says she began to see this possibility for the future. “Since then, I fell in love with aesthetics. And I found out it was what I wanted for myself, for my future and for my professional career”.

So, right after finishing college, she went in search of this career fulfillment. She then began the Postgraduate Program in Aesthetic Biomedicine in Ribeirão Preto, also in the interior of São Paulo.

The first job

In the postgraduate classes, the aesthetic biomedicine professional from SP learned to work with equipment and with body, slimming and many other procedures. After the course, the search for an opportunity in the job market began.

“As soon as I finished the postgraduate program, I started sending out résumés and that's how I started my career in aesthetics. It was at a franchise and I worked there for 3 years, where I got to know carboxytherapy, the day-to-day of mesotherapy and much more”.

In that first job in aesthetics, she learned a lot and, for that reason, feels grateful for having learned about the day-to-day of the clinic, contact with clients and an understanding of what patients were looking for in treatments.

The investment in aesthetics

Naylla says that, since she was at the start of her career, she tried some biomedicine positions in clinical analysis, in which she also had a specialization. “However, it's a difficult field to find opportunities in, especially in my region”.

But, coincidentally, the aesthetic biomedicine professional from SP knows aesthetics was the best choice she could have made. And she explains the reason in one sentence, which you already know because it is in the title of this text: “because today I get to work less and earn more”.

That was when the aesthetic biomedicine professional from SP decided to invest even more in the aesthetics field. “I specialized to meet each patient's needs. Aesthetics is not just beauty, but health. We do our best so that our clients leave happy, healthy and with their goals achieved”.

With that concept in mind, what she did was open her own aesthetics room in the city where she lived, Nova Luzitânia, in the interior of São Paulo. At first, she balanced the work with her first job, at the franchise.

Opening the aesthetics room

After 3 years balancing both jobs, the aesthetic biomedicine professional from SP saw it was time to make a decision. “I left the franchise completely, staying only with my aesthetics clinic, where I still work today”.

She says she works in partnership with her sister, who is a dentist. “She does the whole facial injectables side, botox, fillers and facial harmonization. And I took the other area, which is body”, Naylla said.

Because they are in a small city, the sisters' services can reach audiences across the whole region, including nearby cities. “That way, we became a reference in aesthetics”. This includes PEIM procedures, that is, applications for small blood vessels (microvessels).

In their view, the future is promising. “I want to keep investing in my professional career. There are future plans to build a new clinic, making it a reference center in aesthetics and health in the Nova Luzitânia region”.

The advantages of aesthetics

At first, after her undergraduate degree and specialization, Naylla was looking for an opportunity in the job market. But she found more than that. She found aesthetics, which was decisive in securing her a salary and quality of life.

“The aesthetics field is much more lucrative and you get to make your own schedule. Also, seeing the smile on your patients' faces is very rewarding when they reach their goals and are satisfied with your services.”.

With more flexible work hours, the aesthetic biomedicine professional from SP says she has more time for her family and a lot of autonomy in her professional life. That is why aesthetics was a field that worked out very well for this healthcare professional and could work out for many more people.

“Besides autonomy and flexible hours, being able to form partnerships with other professionals is worth it. At the end of the month, the percentage is much higher than the average biomedical professional's salary”.

The first step…

If you are in this situation and know you can improve your life, the advice from the aesthetic biomedicine professional featured in this story is: take the first step.

“The aesthetics field is much sought after by professionals as a quick way to make money. But, in day-to-day practice, that's not quite how things work. To start a business in aesthetics, you need a lot of responsibility, knowledge, ethics and dedication”.

She says this combo, when worked together with love and dedication, results in success. And even though it is not easy to start a business in our country, the difference between having your own business and working for other companies is huge, in her view.
