Aesthetic Biomedicine: Flexible Schedules Help an Adventist Biomedical Professional Specialize

One factor that carries double weight when you think about enrolling in a postgraduate program in Aesthetic Biomedicine is the schedule available for studying, both theory and hands-on classes.

And, generally, most specializations are scheduled on Saturdays.

Work and personal commitments can influence your choice of postgraduate program and even make you postpone it. That's why it's important to prioritize the format that allows better organization, schedule flexibility and strong performance in your studies.

That was the case for Dr. and professor Farley Eleandro, from Montes Claros-MG. He is a biomedical professional specializing in aesthetics, but before choosing where to study he needed to find an institution that gave him the freedom to adapt his studies to his religion: Seventh-day Adventist.

Learn his story in today's article.

Schedule flexibility

A biomedical professional since 2003, Farley worked in a clinical analysis laboratory from 2005 to 2007, then took the post of health secretary of Santo Antônio do Retiro-MG and oversaw the city's public health until 2012.

Today he is a professor and coordinator of the biomedicine program at a university.

Even with a stable career, the doctor was waiting for an opportunity to take new leaps in his professional life. For that, he was waiting for a chance to pursue a postgraduate program.

“So I thought about aesthetics, because I saw growth potential in the field, not only in teaching, but also in working with people's beauty and self-esteem,” he says.

However, there was a limitation: because he follows the Adventist faith, he could not study on Saturdays, since believers keep the seventh day of the week.

Talking with some friends who had completed a postgraduate program at Nepuga and researching online, he learned about the institution's formats and decided to take the first step into the field that unites health and beauty in one profession.

“What won me over was the flexibility they gave me so I could do my specialization. My theory classes were directed to the online format, I can take the hands-on classes in the middle of the week and, besides that, I always submit requests to skip the Saturday classes and they have never been denied,” says the doctor.

The biomedical professional and aesthetics postgraduate student emphasizes that he is only able to make this upgrade in his life because of the convenience the institution offers.

“Soon I plan to open my own space, start a business in aesthetics, invest in equipment and begin seeing patients and changing people's lives, working on their self-esteem in the best way possible,” he reveals.

Since his friends' recommendation worked out well and it has also been a good experience for his training, Farley recommends the specialization to his wife and sister – who are nurses – and to his students, so they can also enter the aesthetics field.

“I'm doing this postgraduate program comfortably, not only because of the flexibility to adapt classes to my routine, but also because I know Dr. Ana Carolina's story, which brings credibility and confidence to the learning,” he says.

Another piece of advice, this time from his position as an educator, is that people should seek to specialize and gain more and more knowledge, because that is the path to the best professional opportunities.

“Education changes people's lives. That's why, even when I finish my postgraduate program in aesthetics, I won't stop studying. If I could have, and had this information earlier, I would have done the specialization a long time ago,” adds the professor.

Having your own business and being independent is ideal, according to the doctor. And for that, dreaming is not enough; you have to make it happen. “Never give up and be self-sufficient,” he concludes.
