Career Advancement as an Aesthetic Nurse and Profitability in Aesthetics Is Her Goal

Guided by her mother, she pursued a career in healthcare, but now she is seeking career advancement as an aesthetic nurse and profitability in aesthetics.

Letícia Budoia entered healthcare following in her mother's footsteps. She graduated in nursing because her mother was her inspiration for pursuing the career.

With that example from home, Letícia has been a nurse for more than 10 years, with dedication and care for her patients. Within her profession, she says she has worked in several areas, such as patient care, quality and safety management, and training, among others, and has used those experiences to improve her professional performance.

Letícia has now started a new phase of her life. She began her specialization to become an aesthetic nurse because, in her words, the world of beauty has always captivated her.

Letícia says she saw a path for nursing within aesthetics, which is why she decided on the postgraduate program. “I started looking for new horizons. I have always liked aesthetics as a personal choice, and I started to see nursing within it. I thought it was interesting to start looking for information.”

Opportunity for many other fields and career advancement as an aesthetic nurse

Like many other professionals, Letícia sees the growth of aesthetics in the market. As a nurse, she envisions progress in her career by becoming an aesthetic nurse, but she cautions that many other professions also have the chance to get involved in the field. “I see growth in this market, not only for nursing but also for aesthetic biomedical professionals, aesthetic physiotherapists, and others. That is when I took the leap and started this postgraduate program, and I am super happy.”

To win a place among so many qualified professionals already working in the market, Letícia is also building her skills through other studies aligned with her specialization. For her, that has been demanding, since it is not easy to split yourself between so many activities on top of nursing work. “For now, I am waiting until I finish the postgraduate program and taking other courses, right here at Nepuga, so that I can then actually start practicing. Especially because I am trying to balance both things, studying and working.”

Letícia highlights that the growth of aesthetics has been significant. She says she is a user of aesthetic procedures herself, believes in the strength of the sector, and that what she learns can help her do a good job. “It is a pioneering field, and I believe it will help me grow as a professional. I see an upward trend, and with my knowledge, that should add value when I enter the market.”

The power of being a self-employed professional and the financial return

Letícia says the routine inside a hospital is very draining. One of the factors that led her to aesthetics was having more autonomy at work and being able to balance her schedule better.

She acknowledges that the beginning may be demanding, but over time, by aligning her appointment hours with recognition and financial return, she can achieve the much-dreamed-of quality of life. She also says that healthcare, in this case in a hospital, takes a lot out of you, and that as a self-employed professional she will have more control over those moments of exhaustion.

“The fact that it is a self-employed service already says a lot. We can work according to our own availability. Of course, at the beginning it takes a lot of dedication, but it is a very profitable field. Even as a client, you can tell from the price of the procedures. I believe it will add both financial and professional value.”

“The idea is to make a complete move into aesthetics”: the future after specialization

Letícia already has in mind the next steps after finishing the postgraduate program. She says she wants to start her own business in the field. “The idea is to make a full move and work only in aesthetics. Also, since I want my own clinic, it will depend a lot on me, so at first I may not be able to be in both the hospital field, where I currently work, and aesthetics.”

She does not rule out the possibility of also working at other clinics, even to gain experience and improve as a professional.

There are many paths this aesthetic nurse could take, but she has already done the most important thing, which was to begin building a promising career in aesthetics.
