To Stay One Step Ahead in the Market, Aesthetic Biomedical Professional Pursues a Postgraduate Program
Caring for others has always been part of Graziella Souza's life. That is why she decided to enter the health field and study Biomedicine. Now, the aesthetic biomedical professional is pursuing a postgraduate program to advance professionally and grow within aesthetics.
Grazi is also a professional makeup artist, has an affinity for taking care of people, and saw in biomedicine a way to contribute to her patients' well-being and joy. When she realized she could transform people and recreate the way they imagined themselves, she fell in love with the field and decided to follow this path.
Determined, she entered the biomedicine undergraduate program already intending to go into aesthetics, and now she is doing her specialization to qualify even further. “Transforming people's lives in the simplest way possible, so they would feel good about themselves, is what I fell in love with, and I studied biomedicine intending to go into aesthetics, and now I started my postgraduate program so I can professionalize better and understand more of what we are doing. I am already an aesthetic biomedical professional; I am doing the postgraduate program for the knowledge”.
Experience in Aesthetics and the Chance to Learn in Clinical Immersions
Graziela started her undergraduate studies focused on going into aesthetics. During the Biomedicine program she already had in mind the path she would follow. Today, in the specialization, she says she is doing it for the knowledge and to gain more learning. Even though she holds a biomedicine degree and is authorized by her professional council to work as an aesthetic professional, Grazi understands the need to specialize and to practice, during the clinical immersions, procedures she had no contact with during her degree.
Grazi also says that during her degree she had the chance to do internships, which was very important for her preparation for the job market. The experience had a positive influence on her life. “I interned for a year at a clinic here in São Paulo. It was a year of a lot of learning and I left there knowing a lot, and when I got here, that experience even helped me share everything with my friends”.
According to Graziela, this is one of the factors that made her feel good about the specialization. Being able to exchange information during the clinical immersions makes the professional even greater.
She also points out that, by doing the postgraduate program, she came into contact with situations she had not experienced during her internship, and that was of great value to her. “Here I had the opportunity to learn about PEIM (Injectable aesthetic procedure for microvessels), because I never had the chance to learn that technique, for example”.
Starting a Business and Becoming a Clinic Owner
A multi-professional, besides being a makeup artist she also works in aesthetics. She is currently the biomedical professional in charge at a clinic and performs some laser procedures, such as hair removal, as well as meeting other patient needs. Even while already in the market, she says the clinical immersion during the specialization gives her more confidence to do her job. “Here I gain more confidence and more understanding of what I am doing, and so I can manage to open my own clinic, which is a dream of mine”.
The desire to have a clinic has its reasons. First, autonomy as a professional and, in her words, the main thing is being able to answer only to herself, with more freedom to make decisions. “Today I report to the people in charge of the clinic where I work, but in the future I want to be able to perform procedures as the person in charge”.
Grazi has worked hard to enter the job market prepared. She started the specialization while still working on her TCC (Capstone Project), proving her commitment and dedication.
Grazi received great recommendations for the specialization. “I searched on the internet while I was still finishing my capstone project at college. This specialization was the one with the most positive reviews, and I also got a recommendation from a friend. It took me about six months to decide, but I am sure I made the right choice”.
