Aesthetic nurse discovered that changing fields could improve her quality of life
“I ended up spending a year without working, and during that time I realized I had found quality of life, so I decided to try another profession.” This is another success story for you to follow now!

Dr. Cássia do Carmo is an aesthetic nurse, nutritionist and aesthetics technician, and currently lives in São Carlos. Very comfortable in her own skin, she says that besides aesthetics she has two other passions: weight training and dance.

After working as a nurse in the ICU and emergency room for more than 20 years, Dr. Cássia says she found quality of life when she had to step away from her job for 1 year.

That is how aesthetics became a career option for her. “I didn't want to be a nurse anymore, so I decided to start the aesthetics and cosmetology technical course and kept improving myself”, she says.

The beginning

Now in this field for 10 years, she talks about how she got started.

“I started out working as a freelance makeup artist at a beauty salon, and they liked my work and invited me to work with them. By then I was already studying aesthetics, and as I learned, I applied it there”, says aesthetic nurse Dr. Cássia.

She says that over time she kept progressing until she bought her own property and set up her clinic.

“I decided to do the postgraduate program in aesthetic nursing because the council requires that credential for us to work with injectables, and now I've had my own clinic for 1 year,” and that is how Clínica Rinnovawas born, where Dr. Cássia currently practices.

The professional considers the change of fields an upgrade, and talks about the purpose of her new work.  “In a way, as an aesthetic nurse we keep taking care of people, right? The only difference is that now I take care of beautiful people who want to look even more beautiful”.

With plans to invest more and more in her business, Dr. Cássia talks about what is ahead.

“In the short term I want to work and get the clinic moving with the new procedures; in the medium and long term I don't know where I'll be, but I know I'll do everything I can to grow professionally and keep getting better.”
