The Federal Council of Dentistry (CFO) has qualified students of Nepuga’s Orofacial Harmonization (HOF) postgraduate program, confirming that our postgraduate program is fully aligned with the requirements set by the Council.

This recognition not only validates the quality of our specialization but also reinforces the confidence that our doctors are prepared to practice with scientific, ethical and legal backing.

This achievement was only possible thanks to the tireless effort of our team, especially Dr. Bruna Puga, academic coordinator, and Dr. Karina Mendes, the attorney in charge of Nepuga’s legal team.

“This achievement is very special to me and to the entire Nepuga team, because it shows that all the effort and dedication were worth it. I worked directly on organizing the curriculum, structuring the classes and preparing the official documentation required by the CRO (Brazilian regional dentistry council), making sure every detail was aligned with the Council’s rules ”, commented Dr. Bruna.

What Does This Recognition Mean?

Orofacial Harmonization is a regulated dental specialty, and for a course to be recognized by the Federal Council of Dentistry (CFO), the institution must meet a series of technical and academic requirements. Among them are:

  • Minimum course load set by the CFO
  • Curriculum structure compatible with official guidelines
  • Qualified faculty and coordination with appropriate credentials
  • Institution duly authorized and accredited by Brazil’s MEC (Ministry of Education)
  • Submission of all required documentation

The major milestone is that Nepuga’s postgraduate program in Orofacial Harmonization is officially recognized by the CFO as one of the few specializations in the country that meet all the required criteria. This achievement proves the seriousness of our work and, once again, places Nepuga in a position of national prominence.

In practice, it means that doctors who choose Nepuga can be confident they are investing in a specialization validated by the Council, with backing to obtain specialty registration with the CRO and gain authority in the market.

The academic coordinator, Dr. Bruna Puga, expresses her pride in this victory:
“As academic coordinator of the postgraduate programs, I am immensely happy with this achievement. This is a milestone we were desperately chasing to make work, and seeing it happen now is a source of great pride for the entire institution”, explains Dr. Bruna.

What Sets Nepuga’s Postgraduate Program Apart

At Nepuga, the Orofacial Harmonization | HOF postgraduate program was structured from the start on scientific rigor, intensive practice and innovative methodology. The CFO’s recognition confirms that our path was right: training specialist dental surgeons, prepared to meet clinical demands and, at the same time, gain authority in the Orofacial Harmonization market.

With nationally recognized faculty, a robust course load and a focus on hands-on practice, doctors find here training that goes far beyond theory — and that now carries the Council’s official seal of approval.

A Milestone for Our Doctors

For Dentistry, this recognition reinforces the importance of HOF as a specialization area. For Nepuga, it is confirmation that our academic mission is being fulfilled: preparing doctors who practice with excellence, ethics and safety, building solid and respected careers.

More than a title, this achievement is the guarantee that every Nepuga doctor is walking the path recognized by the CFO — an edge that opens doors and strengthens a professional trajectory.

The academic coordinator, Dr. Bruna Puga, recalls the effort involved in this process:
“I chased after the professors, closely followed every necessary adjustment, including issues of deflations, and kept in close communication with the students to calm them, clear up questions and make sure no one was left without information during the process”, recalls Dr. Bruna.

This commitment is reflected in success stories, like that of Dr. Gabriel Miranda de Sousa Monte, the first Nepuga student to obtain HOF qualification from the Council. Today, Dr. Gabriel is a faculty member in our Orofacial Harmonization postgraduate program, bringing students the experience of someone who walked this path and earned official recognition.

“Receiving the CFO’s qualification in Orofacial Harmonization is a very special milestone in my journey. This achievement reflects not only individual effort but also the evolution of the specialty, which has been gaining more and more space and recognition within Dentistry. I had the honor of completing my postgraduate program in HOF at NEPUGA, a transformative experience that broadened my clinical vision and gave me a solid education. Today, being able to return to the institution as a professor is a source of great pride, as it allows me to give back what I learned and contribute to the training of new specialists,” celebrates Dr. Gabriel.
