These professionals are increasingly earning their rightful place in the Health field. After gaining certification in Aesthetic Health at the end of 2020, in December 2021 came the specialization in Ozone Therapy for biologists.
The profession's Federal Council regulated, through Resolution No. 614/21, the certification of biologists in Integrative Health.
“We started 2022 on the right foot! We've reached another achievement: biologists can now specialize in Integrative Health. In this Aesthetic and Integrative Health market, we have faced great challenges to get where we are, biologists included. And the intention is not to stop: we will keep moving forward and occupying every space that health professionals are entitled to,” says Prof. Dr. Ana Carolina Puga, MSc.
The Ozone Therapy specialization for biologists
According to the resolution, biologists are legally qualified professionals, since their training provides the knowledge needed to work in Integrative Health.
Under Art. 4, items XI and XII, biologists may train not only in Ozone Therapy but also in Naturopathy, another specialty covered by Integrative Health.
“Considering that the Biologist has knowledge in the areas of genetic counseling, clinical analyses in all specialties, clinical cytology, toxicological analyses, molecular diagnostics, genetic analyses, hemotherapy, extracorporeal circulation, assisted human reproduction, clinical research, cell therapy, gene therapy, geology, medicinal botany, human morphology, human physiology, limnology, and the production, control and development of biological products or products of biotechnological origin,” the resolution notes among its considerations.
On top of that, the Ozone Therapy specialization for biologists broadens the range of professional opportunities open to biologists, including the chance to contribute effectively to Public Health in their own city.
After all, when a health professional specializes in a practice of Integrative Health, they develop a deeper, more clinical and more human perspective when analyzing each patient's case, seeing beyond what the patient came looking for.
Integrative Health: Ozone Therapy and Naturopathy
