Aesthetic Biomedicine – Dr. Renata Borges Tells How She Made the Switch

Aesthetic Biomedical Professional Dr. Renata Borges worked for 10 years in clinical analysis. But she found in aesthetics a new way to work with joy and energy.

“Aesthetics changed my life in every area, but mainly financially”, says the specialist.

Taking the Postgraduate Program in Aesthetic Biomedicine in the city of Campinas-SP, Dr. Renata completed the specialization in 2018 and explains why she decided to change fields after so many years working in clinical analysis.

“In the beginning everything was nice, cool, but after a while I would think, ‘Wow, is this it? Is there nothing more than novelty?’ And when I learned that biomedicine had opened the doors for us to work in aesthetics, I thought: this is it, this is when I’m going to change my life”.

The alumna says that as soon as she started the specialization, she already began working in aesthetics. “In every class I wanted to learn and understand more, so aesthetics is a world that, once you know it, you can’t leave anymore”.

Changes Far Beyond Aesthetic Biomedicine

Today, as an Aesthetic Biomedical Professional and entrepreneur in the field, she says she regrets not having started in aesthetics sooner. She also notes that her biggest change was an internal one, going from a professional frustrated with her field to a specialist who loves what she does.

“I learned to take care of myself much more than before. Today we know that aesthetics is much more than appearance; it’s much more health, much more quality of life. So before passing it on to my patients, I started applying it to myself”.

As the main factor in her professional success, she points out that she doesn’t just preach Aesthetic Health but speaks about something she began applying to herself, “I want everyone to have this experience, to change what is truly bothering them and have a better quality of life”.

Besides the change in how she sees life, the specialist says her day-to-day as an Aesthetic Biomedical Professional gives her more freedom, “Today I can have more flexible hours, rearrange my schedule to have time with my family, enjoy all of this a bit more, which I couldn’t experience before”.

A Dr. Ana Carolina Puga, M.Sc. rounds out the conversation by saying that, contrary to what many people think, working in aesthetics doesn’t mean the professional will work less, “We work quite a lot in aesthetics, but it’s different, because we work with pleasure, because we do what we love, and we don’t even see time go by”.

So Dr. Renata changed her routine, and working as an Aesthetic Biomedical Professional in her own space, she shares her perception, “Today I work with a lot of love; to me it isn’t a burden, it’s something pleasurable”.

“It’s been more than a year since I finished the specialization, and I’m still in touch with the professors, so I can still count on that support from the institution. I won’t do anything in doubt, knowing I have someone to ask”, the specialist concludes.
