Aesthetic Nursing – Dr. Leandro Andrade Found His Professional Future

In the final stage of getting his own clinic space legally approved, aesthetic nurse Dr. Leandro Andrade is preparing to offer advanced Facial Harmonization to his patients. This is aesthetic nursing making nurses' dreams come true!

From military officer to aesthetic nurse

After a 25-year military career in the Navy, Dr. Leandro, who is also a nurse, says he was looking for something that would make sense in his professional life once he retires in the coming years.

“I worked as a nurse in hospitals, but I never found my place. I felt too stuck in protocols and had no way to grow. I also started a law degree, in this search to decide what to do with my future, but I put it on hold,” he says.

And it was in Aesthetic Nursing that he found that path. Even in a year marked by the pandemic, he decided he needed to study.

Discovering the specialization

“I found out through social media that I could specialize as an aesthetic nurse.”

“That was great, because nursing had already been forgotten in my life. I didn't even think I would use that experience in my career again.”

“Today I keep improving my skills. I've taken courses in non-surgical rhinoplasty, PDO threads, and injectables. All of this will bring me satisfying earnings, as well as professional satisfaction, freedom, and autonomy.”

Making the dream come true with Aesthetic Nursing

Located in Icaraí, Niterói-RJ, Instituto Admira received the special touch of an architect who specializes in clinics, and it is now about to open.

“My plans are to see patients a few days a week and sublease the space the rest of the time when I can't be there. That's for the next 5 years, when I'll retire from my military career and have full time to dedicate to aesthetics,” he says.

Moving forward

Even during the pandemic, Leandro says he needed to take this step in his career. Being able to study online contributed a lot to his being able to complete his specialization in aesthetics while working in the army and carrying out his duties.

“It was agonizing to think about what I would do with my life after retiring. Now I have a purpose,” he emphasizes.
