Aesthetic Pharmacist Stands Out in POA

Aesthetic Pharmacist Dr. Carolina Rocho Berg, from Porto Alegre – RS, no longer wants the salary of big drugstore chains, but rather financial return through Aesthetic Pharmacy.

A graduate of 10 years, the pharmacist has already held management positions, but she grew tired of the pharmacy job market. It was exhausting to have to live the profession instead of her life. She could not enjoy holidays with family and friends, or even weekends, but now she wants to leave that routine in the past.

Her future is to ensure well-being and quality of life through one of the most promising markets in the world, and Dr. Carolina knows it is a real possibility. She witnessed the achievements of other pharmacists who also invested in this field and are better off financially.

See how the Aesthetic Pharmacist specialized in Aesthetic Pharmacy in this success story, and discover what this market can offer professionals.

Aesthetic Pharmacist and the Start of Her Career

In 2013, the Federal Council of Pharmacy – CFF (Brazilian professional council) regulated the aesthetics field for professionals like Dr. Carolina, who became an Aesthetic Pharmacist. Before this news that affected the lives of many pharmacists, she had a long career.

Choosing her degree was not an easy decision. With an affinity for the health field, she thought about it a lot in high school, but some factors weighed in for her to make that decision.

Pharmacy was a presence at family gatherings, since her aunt also worked in the field. “Actually, when I finished school, I didn't have much of an idea of what I wanted, but I knew I liked the health field,” she said. “I ended up going into this field because I also liked the pharmacy job market, which is very broad and has a wide range of options,” she said.

Working in the Pharmaceutical Field

In 10 years since graduating, Dr. Carolina has always been successful. At the start of her career, when she did her internship, she worked with compounding.

Although she had her eye on the companies responsible for making medications or cosmetics, the Aesthetic Pharmacist spent most of her career in drugstores, in management.

Being a drugstore manager was a challenge for the pharmacist, who faced the tiring and exhausting routine the field brings, and could not always enjoy weekends or holidays.

“I spent many years in drugstores. I worked Monday through Monday with one day off a week,” she said. “The big drugstore chains dominate, and you end up losing flexibility,” she said.

Public Health Specialist

Dr. Carolina is also a specialist in Public Health, in addition to Aesthetic Pharmacy. She even worked in this area on a temporary city government contract for six months.

“My routine was Monday to Friday,” she said. “I was also already working with injectables, intramuscular injections, and lastly, covid tests,” she stated.

Why Become an Aesthetic Pharmacist?

Living life in that tiring drugstore routine can give you the feeling of being on autopilot. Missing out on a nice outing with the family, traveling, and even going to a simple birthday party on a Saturday afternoon can be impossible, except for the Aesthetic Pharmacist.

According to Dr. Carolina, her two biggest goals are to have free time and financial return, since in her view pharmacists' pay is rigid. “I decided to change fields to have greater schedule flexibility. I found an alternative in aesthetics,” she stated.

Dr. Camila, who is also an Aesthetic Pharmacist, invested in the aesthetics market to achieve the same professional goals.

Aesthetic Pharmacy and Professional Success

The Aesthetic Pharmacist was surprised by the aesthetics field after she saw acquaintances of hers, who also recommended the specialization, reaching a new peak in their careers. That is the reality Aesthetic Pharmacy can provide.

According to Dr. Carolina, the financial return in this field is exceptional. In addition, autonomy also allows you to choose your hours and even the flow of patients. “I have close acquaintances who earn in ten days in aesthetics what they used to earn in a month in pharmacy,” she stated.

What Does an Aesthetic Pharmacist Do?

With Aesthetic Pharmacy, Dr. Carolina wants to reach a different kind of public. Instead of handling medication requests in pharmacies, she wants to provide health through aesthetics.

“We deal with sick people, who arrive weakened, sad, asking for discounts because they don't want to spend,” she said. “People who seek aesthetics want to improve their self-esteem, since they are not happy and want to improve,” she stated.

And as an Aesthetic Pharmacist, she doesn't mind if one day she has to work even more than during her time as a drugstore manager. “The mood of the people who come to you in aesthetics is different. It doesn't matter if I have to work 10 hours a day, it's a different environment,” Dr. Carolina stated.
