Aesthetic Biologist Dr. Danielle Dulço, from Belo Horizonte – MG, waited a long time for the qualification from the Federal Council of Biology – CFBio (Brazil's federal council for biologists), so she could specialize in Aesthetic Biology.
She spent 13 years working in her field of training, in elementary and high school classrooms, but her passion was always aesthetics. Now the biologist is looking for great possibilities and unique opportunities in her career.
“We are protected by law,” she said. “We can work in this field safely through knowledge. Biologists belong in aesthetics and are just as well prepared as biomedical professionals, for example,” she said.
Find out how Aesthetic Biologist Dr. Danielle achieved professional success in this success story, and discover what advantages she saw in aesthetics.
To Be an Aesthetic Biologist
Before working as an Aesthetic Biologist, Dr. Danielle taught biology in elementary and high schools, but it was in the lab that she had the most stressful moment of her career.
The biologist carried the weight of giving far from optimistic news to young people and adults. That professional experience left a mark on her. “I worked in an STD (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) and AIDS lab, and dealt with many diseases. It was very heavy seeing 14-year-olds back then with positive diagnoses,” she said. “I wasn't happy,” she said.
She Is Happy
The drama and anxiety of the lab testing routine had a different outcome. Now Dr. Danielle can give a different kind of news, more positive and constructive, which transforms lives thanks to her work as an Aesthetic Biologist. “I always wanted to work in aesthetics. That's what makes me happy,” said the biologist.
A Shortcut From Aesthetic Biomedicine
Aesthetic Biology only recently became a reality, but the Aesthetic Biologist was in a hurry to get into this field. She even started a biomedicine degree just to specialize in the aesthetics market.
Even though she started the degree, she doesn't plan to drop it. “I've been getting credit for some courses I'd already taken in my other degree,” she said. “If you compare the two curricula, biology and biomedicine, they're similar,” she said.
This is also the opinion of fellow Aesthetic Biologist, Dr. Isabela.
Is It Worth Being an Aesthetic Biologist?
Greater autonomy, investments that can bring an immediate financial return with money tripled, and most importantly, professional respect and relevance. The reality of an Aesthetic Biologist can be well worth it, and Dr. Danielle knows this better than anyone.
Unlike other areas of biology, she has the unique opportunity to be an entrepreneur in this job market. “I'm delighted and loving it more and more,” she said.
Her happiness in this new career is complete. “I really enjoy working in aesthetics. I see the possibility of starting my own business, or even working at partner clinics and also getting help from other professionals,” she said.
Biology will hardly offer the chance to be an entrepreneur. Like Dr. Danielle, the Aesthetic Biologist, Dr. Natháliaalso dreams of opening her own aesthetics clinic.
10 Hours of Travel for Aesthetic Biology
It is a 10-hour trip for the Aesthetic Biologist to develop her practical skills and competencies, to stand out more and more in the field.
“These difficulties don't take away my desire and willingness to learn and specialize,” she said. “It's a challenge and my heart never lets me give up. Sharing knowledge is the greatest satisfaction,” said Dr. Danielle.
Aesthetic Biologists and the Market
Although the Aesthetic Biology job market is a success and also promising, many biologists still have questions about it.
The answer to these questions may be closer than you think. As in other success stories, such as that of Dr. Emília Ferreira and Dr. Guilherme Garcez.
According to Dr. Danielle, her colleagues limit biology and the job market to the areas of their degree, such as education or labs.
Unlike the Aesthetic Biologist, who left her comfort zone and discovered a field where she can work with what she loves most, aesthetics. “I understand that my colleagues don't have the same passion I have,” she said.
