Aesthetic Pharmacist Trades the Drugstore for Aesthetics in Rio de Janeiro

Botulinum toxin, facial fillers, and even microvessel treatments are some of the aesthetic procedures that Aesthetic Pharmacist Dr. Camila Cadete Spínola, from Rio de Janeiro, can perform on her patients to deliver great results.

She chose pharmacy out of love, and despite her affinity for this job market, she decided to invest in Aesthetic Pharmacy to have opportunities that bring her greater relevance in the aesthetics scene.

Like her, other specialists work in aesthetics and are gaining great opportunities, ever since Brazil's Federal Pharmacy Council regulated Resolution No. 616/2015. “Pharmacy has a lot to do with the aesthetic field,” said Dr. Camila.

Find out how Dr. Camila became an Aesthetic Pharmacist in this success story.

Before becoming an Aesthetic Pharmacist

Dr. Camila fell in love with pharmacy when she was still a child. The Aesthetic Pharmacist has a great privilege: she can say she chose her profession out of love.

And the childhood game became reality. The pharmacy dream came true through a solid, stable career in the job market.

“I chose pharmacy because I have always really liked medication. Since I was little, I enjoyed reading the package insert of medicines,” said Dr. Camila. “Some people are passionate about other areas of my degree, because they are so broad to work in,” she said.

A 15-year career

Despite having a 15-year career in public health, the Aesthetic Pharmacist took stock of her career and thought about her professional path.

After many years in this market, she can dream again about a career that can boost her name even further. “I have always worked in public health, but now I decided to enter the aesthetic field,” she said.

Aesthetic Pharmacy in the lives of other pharmacists

This proves how pharmacists can boost their careers, even outside the common areas of the degree, such as drugstore chains, for example.

That is the case with other pharmacists, such as Dr. Ezequiel, who after 35 years invested in Aesthetic Pharmacy to achieve new dreams and a new reality.

How to become an Aesthetic Pharmacist?

Dr. Camila became an Aesthetic Pharmacist after investing in the specialization, trading long shifts behind drugstore counters for a life with more quality, autonomy, and greater possibilities.

Aesthetic Pharmacy can provide a better quality of life, in addition to maximizing investments through entrepreneurship, since there is great demand from patients who want aesthetic treatments.

You also gain more visibility with a career admired by the market. According to the pharmacist, her husband, who is a dentist, already works in the field performing procedures such as Orofacial Harmonization. “That is why I decided to specialize in aesthetics,” she said.

More autonomy as an Aesthetic Pharmacist

Dr. Camila has big goals in Aesthetic Pharmacy, with better expectations than before, when she worked in the pharmaceutical field. ”I am looking for more flexible hours,” she said. “It is better than retail,” she said.

The Aesthetic Pharmacist has just one piece of advice for other professionals who are still evaluating their careers. “Financial return is important, but it is not everything. Do what you love. I am passionate about it,” said Dr. Camila.
