Aesthetic pharmacist and compounding pharmacy owner invests in an aesthetics franchise – “promising market”

Aline Novaretti is an aesthetic pharmacist in Pitangueiras (SP). In fact, in that city she co-owns a compounding pharmacy. But a few months ago an opportunity showed up at her door: “we opened an aesthetics franchise of Giovana Antonelli's (GioLaser).”

Want to know the reasons that led her to take this new step and how she did it? A good idea is to read this article in full, which was produced from an interview with her during a clinical immersion class, held in Ribeirão Preto, also in São Paulo.

The Pharmacy Owner

“At the pharmacy, in Pitangueiras, I am more on the compounding side. I do the weighing, the checking, everything a pharmacist does. In the afternoon I go to the franchise, which is in Bebedouro (SP), in another city. There, for now, I am in management. After I finish the postgraduate program in aesthetics, I plan to move into operations. Right now, I have an RT (Technical Manager) at the franchise.”

The explanation above, given by Aline herself, an aesthetic pharmacist, makes a lot of sense considering that the postgraduate program in aesthetic pharmacy now allows pharmacists to be the ones responsible for the aesthetic procedures they perform in their clinics. This helps explain why this specialization title has been increasingly sought after.

Investing in Aesthetics

“The idea of investing in aesthetics came from my husband because one of the partners in this franchise is from our city, and talking with her family, we got interested. Also because ever since the specialization in aesthetic pharmacy came out, I had been interested in the topic. But I got pregnant and with children, I had to wait a bit to take this step forward in making the dream come true.”

Investing in the aesthetics field makes a lot of sense these days, and more and more so. In fact, we have already published content showing how the established career of a pharmacist who goes into business can bear the best fruit. A self-employed professional averages R$ 4,000 per month and a clinic specialist, more than R$ 40,000. This helps explain the path taken by this aesthetic pharmacist.

A Promising Market for the Aesthetic Pharmacist

“Through the conversation with the franchise partner, we decided to invest because we saw that it is a very promising market. And we went in with our eyes closed to see how it turns out. The goal of the franchise is to have a business of my own, because the pharmacy is also co-owned with other people.”

In terms of the market focused on aesthetic procedures, besides GioLaser, which was Aline's choice, we can also see a growing number of franchises from other well-known brands, for example Onodera, Emagrecentro, Botoclinic, Siluets, Maislaser, Magrass, Estetic Face, BodyConcept and Royal Face, among others. This only proves there is a large market for those thinking about becoming an aesthetic pharmacist too.

The Specialization Course in Aesthetic Pharmacy

“The course was very good for me, mainly because of the online part, since I have a young daughter. So the theory part was a huge convenience because the classes can be watched at home or are recorded to watch whenever I could. Afterward, I had the chance to do 12 days of hands-on practice all at once. For those who can do everything together, it is much better.”

In addition to being a pioneer, which explains the nickname Mother of Aesthetic Biomedicine, Dr. Ana Carolina Puga also innovated by creating the first specialization courses in the field.

That is why Nepuga is a reference across the market today for those who dream of specializing as an aesthetic pharmacist, having trained more than 50,000 health professionals, including biomedical professionals, pharmacists, nurses and many others.

The Aesthetic Pharmacist's Take on the Postgraduate Classes

“The clinical immersion is an experience I had never had before. We can take part in everything, be the model patient, be the professional. And for me it added a lot. In practice, we usually start with family members, but after the immersion I feel prepared for day-to-day work.”

For those unfamiliar with the term, consider that “clinical immersion” is part of Nepuga's methodology, which allows hands-on classes to take place. This is important because it is mandatory to qualify the health professional to work in the market, according to the Councils of each category.

In the immersion, professionals learn the procedures by performing them, which was endorsed by the aesthetic pharmacist cited in this article. It is a type of study that qualifies the health professional to work in the market effectively and intelligently.
