She Found in Aesthetic Pharmacy a Way to Fulfill Her Childhood Dream

Marianna de Freitas Cosmo is from São José do Rio Preto (SP) and traveled to Ribeirão Preto, in the same state, to start the hands-on classes of her postgraduate program in aesthetic pharmacy. This article is so you can learn a little more about how she got here.

The idea of specializing in aesthetics

Unlike many stories you have probably read here on the blog, Marianna's story begins with a focus on aesthetics. In other words, she did not start studying pharmacy with any other area of practice in mind. Here is how it went:

“Ever since I started seeing a dermatologist, when I was only 12, I knew I wanted to work with aesthetics. Through my pharmacy degree I had that possibility, with the postgraduate program in aesthetic pharmacy”.

She is currently a licensed pharmacist and is taking the hands-on part of the specialization. This path, although motivating, was already familiar to her. “I had a friend who was a pharmacist and who did the postgraduate program in aesthetics”.

In fact, that is where she got the idea of combining her childhood dream (working in aesthetics), with professional training. “Since my friend got really good results, that motivated me a little more to pursue this field”.

The search for a school

Marianna says that when she typed “aesthetic pharmacy” into Google, only Nepuga came up. “So it was my reference from the very first search. And I learned the story of Dr. Ana Carolina Puga. After that I had no doubts”.

In the pharmacist's view, “any course in healthcare today has her as a reference. Because she was the one who started it and took the first step. Today, that is a source of pride”.

And it truly is a source of pride. So much so that Dr. Ana recently received the Biomedical Professional of the Year award, granted by the Federal Council of Biomedicine. We told that story, with photos and videos, on our blog. Check it out!

Clinical immersion in the aesthetic pharmacy postgraduate classes

The pharmacist shares an interesting experience. She says that the clinical immersion is one of the differences of the specialization course she chose.

“When you take an aesthetic pharmacy course, it is very hard because everything is so superficial and theoretical. In this program I found that the hands-on classes allow us to learn a lot”.

And she adds: “after all, it is a whole day of you performing procedures. And that gives you confidence to do it in your daily practice”. This helps explain why the Nepuga postgraduate program is the market's top reference for healthcare professionals.

Opening a new aesthetics clinic

Marianna Cosmo says that after the final clinical immersion classes in aesthetic pharmacy and receiving her specialist certificate, she will open an aesthetics clinic. “And who knows, see patients in other parts of Brazil”.

Along with these goals, the pharmacist still sees other positive horizons that may come during her professional journey. “Standing out in my field and having a good financial return. Besides continuing to invest in Dr. Ana Carolina's courses”.
