You need to hear about Anny's transformation. She saw in Nepuga's 1st Aesthetic Pharmacy Course, in Brasília (DF), a chance to grow in her career.
She used to own a small pharmacy in partnership with her husband. Today, she has a drugstore and an aesthetics clinic. In addition, she teaches at two postgraduate institutions.
The story below is about changes in career and in life. “Today my biggest focus is passing on knowledge. I have a passion for teaching in my field and for training other aesthetic professionals.”
What few people know is that it all started back in 2015. Learn more about this story.
The beginning of Anny's story
In 2015, Anny Gabriele Pereira de Oliveira had a pharmacy in Marabá (PA). Thinking about expanding the business, instead of opening a second location, she chose to invest in her career and enrolled in Nepuga's Aesthetic Pharmacy Course.
In fact, this was Nepuga's (Núcleo de Estudos Dra. Ana Carolina Puga) 1st Course in this field and location. That is how the aesthetic professional's career change began.
The specialization was tied to her work in the job market. “I stood behind the counter and recommended products for the face, weight loss and hair to customers. So I was already working with the aesthetics side of things.”
That is how she started looking for aesthetics courses and found the name of Dr. Ana Carolina Puga. “She opened doors for aesthetic pharmacy and created a fight for our profession,” she said.
And she added: “At the time, there was no postgraduate course aimed exclusively at the pharmaceutical market. And even though she is from another profession, she welcomed us with open arms. That's why I decided to take the course with her.”
The first aesthetics clinic
Soon after the Aesthetic Pharmacy Course, Anny set up her aesthetics clinic, which offered multidisciplinary care, Farmaclinic.
“I really invested. I ran the project and put it into practice. The clinic had physicians, dentists and physiotherapists who had offices in the same building.”
However, the big turning point she had, coming from the Aesthetic Pharmacy classes at Nepuga, was realizing she was exploring a new market.
“Until then there were no aesthetic pharmacists. And we didn't know what kinds of services we could provide. Everything was very new.”
Back then, at the start of her life as an entrepreneur, the aesthetic professional says that with the microvessels course (which she also took at Nepuga), she had a bigger demand from clients.
“It was a course I almost didn't take because I thought there would be no audience, but it was the one that gave me the most financial return.”
At the same time, as someone who dreams up projects, she organized an aesthetics event for clients, with more than 60 patients. “It's a broad market. The feeling of giving women their self-esteem back is very fulfilling.”

The start of her academic career
With the success of her first aesthetics clinic, Anny was able to open her second business. However, it was inside a shopping mall. That means that with the restrictive measures, appointments were paused.
So the aesthetic professional had a new idea: entering an academic career. Since she had Nepuga's Aesthetic Pharmacy Course on her résumé, she saw the possibility of earning a master's degree and starting to teach online classes for others interested in the market.
And it's no coincidence that Anny has kept her love of teaching. In fact, today she teaches aesthetics postgraduate classes at two educational institutions.
The second aesthetics clinic
With the end of the pandemic restrictions, the specialized aesthetic professional saw her entrepreneurial instinct reawaken.
A new clinic emerged, even more complete. Among the services offered are: ozone therapy, plasma and other post-operative treatments and facial harmonization and body treatments.
This way, Anny can balance both jobs. In the morning and afternoon, she sees patients at her clinic. In the evening and on weekends, she teaches her postgraduate classes. The profession allowed her to balance her own work schedule.
And for those who think she'll stop there, read what she said: “I work with neural therapy and I've already seen that Nepuga is going to launch classes on this topic. It will be a great opportunity to specialize in that area too.”
The importance of specializing in aesthetics
Anny's fantastic story is truly incredible. And the success began in 2015, when she chose Nepuga's 1st Aesthetics Postgraduate Course.
“That's when I was able to work with regulated aesthetics. In fact, today I am part of the ethics board of the state of Pará within the CRF (Federal Council of Pharmacy, Brazilian professional council).”
She says that in that class there were biomedical professionals, nurses and pharmacists. And it was especially important for pharmacy professionals: “until then we didn't have a postgraduate program aimed at our field.”
