Physiotherapist Focuses on Ozone Therapy as an Integrative Treatment for Her Patients

Valdilene Barreto has a 30-year career in physiotherapy. With so much experience accumulated over these three decades in the Rio de Janeiro market, where she lives and has her practice, the physiotherapist focuses on ozone therapy as an integrative procedure for her patients to support mobility-related treatments.

As a physiotherapist, Valdilene performs a variety of procedures ranging from general treatments in the specialty to acupuncture. With so much experience, she knows how important it is to always stay current with new techniques, and she is now taking another specialization, this time in ozone therapy, and trusts in the results she will achieve and the benefits she will bring to patients.

With the approval of the use of ozone as an integrative treatment, many professionals are seeking the specialization to be able to offer one more option and a new technique in their clinics and offices. Valdilene believes in the potential of ozone therapy and is already confident she will get good results from integrating physiotherapy with the procedure.

Professional journey: 30 years of commitment to health

Working for 30 years as a physiotherapist in Rio de Janeiro, Valdilene Barreto is a professional with vast experience in the field. Thirty years devoted entirely to the well-being and rehabilitation of her patients. The commitment and passion of a professional dedicated to physiotherapy.

It all began when she was studying Psychology. During her degree, she came into contact with physiotherapy and it was love at first sight. The charm was immediate and already in the second semester she switched to physio, where she found her calling.

Specializing in Respiratory Physiotherapy and Acupuncture, Valdilene built a broad career. Her office in the city center is a reference point for those seeking holistic health care. From general Physiotherapy to techniques such as RPG, Pilates and Acupuncture, she offers complete treatments to her patients.

Valdilene says her focus is mobility-related treatments. She says she sees many elderly patients who have great difficulty moving and that treatment with ozone therapy will be a major differentiator in her care.

This contact with Ozone Therapy happened during the pandemic. Although she was curious about the technique, she waited for the right moment to integrate it into her practice. For her, Ozone Therapy represents more than just an addition to her treatments; it is a powerful tool to improve her patients' quality of life.

“In my work as a physiotherapist I see many cases of chronic pain that sometimes can't be resolved quickly, or elderly patients with limited movement. Ozone therapy comes in to improve that condition of the patient and leave them freer, so that I can gain their movement with more fluidity, more ease and less pain.”

Valdilene points out that while some professionals in the medical field may not give due value to ozone therapy, she sees the technique the same way she sees acupuncture, for example: as an effective means of providing relief and healing. Very aware of the battles physiotherapy faces to defend the use of the technique and against prejudice, she says this is a matter of education to change mistaken perceptions.

“The public needs to have access to information and know all the benefits ozone therapy can offer. Physiotherapists have been battling the medical profession for years over acupuncture, and I believe that only with knowledge is it possible to end any doubt.”

Valdilene is an eternal student. Her focus has always been to offer the best to her patients, and that is why she has been active for 30 years, because of her commitment. Her constant search for new techniques reveals her commitment to efficiency. She understands that with the world of science constantly evolving, standing still is not a viable option.

When Valdilene integrates ozone therapy into her practice, she sees an opportunity to expand even further her ability to help her patients. As she herself says, “a complete professional must be open to all the possibilities that can benefit their patients.”

Following this reasoning, for her, the path to becoming an increasingly competent professional never ends. With all the technological evolution and these tools being used in the service of science, the whole world has only to gain from new practices and the pioneering spirit of professionals.
