Dr. Ana Carolina Buosi represents an increasingly common profile among health professionals: biomedical professionals who enter the field already focused on aesthetics. Although she was qualified to work in the field since her internship during her undergraduate studies, Dr. Ana chose to deepen her knowledge with a postgraduate program in aesthetic biomedicine, especially in injectable procedures, reinforcing the trend of professionals seeking autonomy and recognition in this specialty.
Her journey shows not only her passion for the field, but also serves as inspiration for those evaluating paths within biomedicine.
From a young age, Dr. Ana showed a natural interest in beauty and self-esteem. “I always really liked that side of beauty, makeup, hair, lashes, and I always really enjoyed bringing self-esteem, both to myself and to other people. I loved doing my friends' and my mother's makeup. It was like: ‘it's not therapy, but it's therapeutic.’” That initial passion served as a compass for her professional choices.

At first, Ana considered studying aesthetics as an undergraduate degree. However, as she researched the possibilities further, she discovered biomedicine as an alternative that combined science with the possibility of working in aesthetics. During her undergraduate studies, even though the training was mostly geared toward areas such as clinical analysis, she kept her focus.
“In undergrad, you mostly see the lab analysis side, and I didn't identify with it much. When I came into contact with aesthetics, that's when I saw it was what I wanted.”
Why the Preference for Injectable Procedures?
Besides her exposure to aesthetics during her degree, she did an internship in the field in her final year. It was during that period that Dr. Ana confirmed her preference for injectable procedures. “In biomedicine, you can do injectable procedures. Researching more, I found this field incredible. It's the one I still love to this day.”
She also highlighted the immediate satisfaction these procedures provide. “With injectables, like a filler, you can already see the result right there. It's totally different.”
During her internship, Ana was exposed to various techniques and procedures, such as lymphatic drainage, facial cleansing, Skin Booster, and enzyme applications for localized fat. Although she admires all areas, she recognized in injectable procedures her true calling.
Once she graduated, Dr. Ana began working at an aesthetic clinic. Although she stayed only a short time because of the distant location, she highlights how much that experience contributed to her development. “During the time I was there I absorbed a lot, I learned a lot that I didn't know.”

She is currently preparing to start at a new clinic, closer to her home, and in parallel is investing in her continuing education. “My big dream is to open my own space, my own clinic. But today I'm seeking more knowledge and improvement. I want to learn more about what day-to-day life in clinics is like, how to deal with patients.”
The Relevance of Aesthetic Biomedicine Compared to Other Specialties
The pursuit of continuous knowledge is not just a trait of Dr. Ana, but also a growing trend among biomedical professionals. More and more people choose a biomedicine degree already aiming to work in aesthetics. This is due to the relevance of the field, which combines science, professional autonomy, and the possibility of transforming lives by promoting self-esteem.
The postgraduate program in aesthetic biomedicine, chosen by Dr. Ana, stands out as one of the most sought after by health professionals who want to deepen their expertise in injectable procedures, such as fillers, botulinum toxin, and collagen biostimulators. These courses offer not only advanced techniques, but also preparation to start a business in a highly competitive and promising market.
Dr. Ana continues her journey with dedication and conviction, building step by step the path she dreamed of. Her story shows how passion, focus, and constant learning can open doors and transform perspectives, reaffirming the potential of aesthetic biomedicine as a promising and fulfilling field.
