Professor Dr. Antony Barbosa and Biomedical Professional Dr. Lucas Lima Publish Article in American Journal

Pharmacist Prof. Dr. Antony Barbosa and biomedical professional Dr. Lucas Lima achieved an unprecedented feat in the Institution's academic aesthetics field: they published an article in Heliyon Journal Cell Press, by Elsevier.

Titled: A review of the lipolytic effects and the reduction of abdominal fat from bioactive compounds and moro Orange extracts.

“Morosil®️, from @galenafarmaceutica, is a phytotherapeutic widely used by health professionals, alone or combined with other pharmacological actives, for weight loss and to fight localized fat. What we did was survey all the available literature on the subject and analyze the data so we could demonstrate the drug's effectiveness at the right dosage and with the correct method of administration, which we achieved through this research,” explains Prof. Dr. Antony Barbosa.

Student and biomedical professional Dr. Lucas Lima was praised by the faculty for the quality of the article. “It was work equivalent to a master's-level research project. I like to say that at Nepuga we don't just do Aesthetics, we also do science,”says Prof. Dr. Antony.

The academic director of IES Nepuga/FAPUGA, Ma. Dr. Ana Carolina Puga, also congratulated the duo, especially biomedical professional Dr. Lucas Lima.

Dr. Lucas Lima took an average of 9 months to write the article under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Antony Barbosa. The article was published on 10/08 in the journal's newsletter.

Heliyon is an open-access journal that publishes scientifically rigorous research from scholars around the world in the biological, physical, social, and medical sciences. The publication of the article confirms the effectiveness of Moro Orange extract and its clinical use for weight loss.

“I really like this area of research. I have a few published articles, but this is my first in the field of aesthetics, and I think this scientific grounding is important for our day-to-day clinical practice,” explains Dr. Lucas Lima.
