Dr. Siomara Fernandes has been a Dental Surgeon since 2011 and completed the Postgraduate Program in Aesthetic Health at Nepuga/FAPUGA. During her postgraduate program, she devoted herself to research on Rejuvenation in the 21st Century, an extremely relevant topic in the health field, as well as in social discussion.

With this dedication, graduate Dr. Siomara Fernandes dos Santos begins the presentation of her capstone project (TCC, Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso) in Aesthetic Health. The specialist has been a graduate in Dentistry from Universidade do Oeste Paulista – UNOESTE since 1979, and did her postgraduate program at Nepuga/FAPUGA in Porto Alegre-RS.
The doctor states that her background in Dentistry was the precursor to her current success in Aesthetic Health:
“Orofacial harmonization is already established as one of the possible fields of practice for branches of dental specialization, especially Orthodontics, Orthopedics and Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD). These specializations bring with them a significant body of theoretical and practical knowledge that supports all skin treatments, in the area of the face and surrounding areas”.
In 2018, Dr. Siomara began her postgraduate program, and during her time at Nepuga/FAPUGA she fell in love with injectables and aesthetic procedures to soften signs of aging. That is why she chose the title “REJUVENATION IN THE 21ST CENTURY – A HEALTH ISSUE” for her capstone project, bringing together the knowledge she acquired throughout her career.
The work in Aesthetic Health focuses on intradermotherapy procedures with biostimulators, with the aim of renewing mature skin as a way to raise self-esteem, contributing to these patients' quality of life. In her analysis, she presents as an advantage: “It is possible to perform procedures without losing the patient's original features and, therefore, without losing facial identity. Rejuvenation, basically, addresses the causes and consequences of aging in all its factors. From this perspective, rejuvenation is a process that, more than aesthetic procedures, includes care for restoring health as a whole and, as a result, of the skin”.
The student discusses the objectives of her work in Aesthetic Health, studying the substance with the best results in this type of procedure: “From understanding how the aging process works techniques and procedures have been developed that are reversing this process. Collagen biostimulators are currently the most promising innovation in the field of facial rejuvenation.”
As her central objective, Dr. Siomara investigated the use of one specific methodology: “I selected the treatment protocol with biostimulators, using the ELLANSE technique, considering the evaluation and diagnosis of the skin's condition, and drawing up a treatment plan to achieve results and meet the patient's needs. The product shows the best results in terms of durability, which can range from 1 to 4 years, depending on the treatment protocol used.”
The specialist, a graduate since 1979, has worked in several niches of dental Aesthetic Health but found a new path to professional fulfillment. She stresses the importance of the topic addressed in her capstone project: “
“Understanding how the human body ages is very important for all health professionals. Especially for those who work in aesthetics.”
