Aesthetic Biomedical Professional and Makeup Artist, Dr. Luana Shares Her Journey in Aesthetics

Makeup artist and now aesthetic biomedical professional Dr. Luana da Silva decided it was time to combine forces. The goal was to keep helping women feel good about themselves by improving their self-esteem.

“Ever since I graduated in Biomedicine, I dreamed of working in aesthetics. I have worked with makeup and eyebrow design since I was 19. So working with women’s beauty was already part of my daily routine.”

“But I felt I needed more. Because makeup makes a woman look beautiful, and then you wash your face and it’s gone. Aesthetic procedures, on the other hand, last longer; they keep that feeling going for patients for more time,” she explains.

The Aesthetic Biomedical Professional’s Decision

And the decision to pursue the specialization in Aesthetic Biomedicine came right at the start of the pandemic. Dr. Luana caught the beginning of the quarantine, with restrictive measures in place and online study still in its early days.

“The pandemic took everyone by surprise, but the best option was to stick to my study plans. I moved forward with what I was given, because I knew it would be a phase”.

“At first I felt very insecure about whether I would be able to absorb the hands-on part, but it was great to do the practice only after studying all the theory. I felt much more confident,” says Dr. Luana.

The Aesthetic Biomedical Professional Maps Out Her Future Career

Today Dr. Luana continues to work as a makeup artist. But she is also already interning at an aesthetic clinic franchise.

“I’m having a very positive experience in this internship, because I get to see up close how daily patient care works. And I’m also getting more confident for when I set up my own office,” she says.

And the dream of having her own office already has a date to become reality: 2022.

“I want to rent a room and start seeing patients. At first I want to work with Facial Harmonization, or facial procedures,” she emphasizes.
