Aesthetic biomedical professional left her salaried job to invest in aesthetics

When she chose to invest in aesthetics, she was called crazy. But she says that in 1 week working part-time in the room she set up, she earned the same as she would in a month working at the company on a formal contract (CLT, Brazil's formal employment regime). “Investing in knowledge is the best path”.

The story in the lines below is that of Carla Camargo. She is an aesthetic biomedical professional who completed a postgraduate program and changed her professional life. The initial investment was low (R$ 1 thousand) and the return is immeasurable because it goes beyond the financial.

The start of her career

A Biomedicine graduate of the University Center in Itu (SP), Carla Camargo began the postgraduate program in Aesthetic Biomedicine in 2013 in São Paulo. For personal reasons, she had to stop. But she returned to her studies and finished the program in 2018.

“It was very important for my learning and for my résumé. I always recommend Nepuga”. The aesthetic biomedical professional says the hands-on classes were essential for applying various procedures. “It's a growing field, but you need to stay up to date”.

She believes that investing in study is the best path to professionalization in aesthetics. “Knowledge is power”, she says.

Now, what you need to know about Carla Camargo is that she left a stable job of 10 years to invest in aesthetics. And the result was incredible. But before learning how this turning point in her professional life happened, find out how she works in today's market.

Ozone therapy

From the postgraduate classes on, Carla Camargo began to discover a world of possibilities within the aesthetics market, which she knew could be profitable. One of them was ozone therapy.

“My postgraduate class was very good, with excellent professors. And that's where I discovered ozone therapy. And I fell in love with it. Today I combine this technique with practically all of my aesthetic procedures”.

The career change

Now that you know a little more about the start of Carla Camargo's career and the ozone therapy course, let's see how the turning point happened in the aesthetic biomedical professional's life.

“Crazy”. That is what she was called at first. And the reason is simple: she left behind a permanent job of more than 10 years, on a formal contract, to invest in aesthetics. That is, in her own dream. “You have to have courage. They think you're crazy for leaving that stability”.

The initial investment was small compared with the return she got. “I started by investing R$ 1 thousand”. And Carla Camargo also used a strategy that worked very well: model patients. “People only paid me for the materials because I needed to have a portfolio”.

And in under 5 years the result came, fast and growing. “In 1 week working part-time in my room, I made the same as a whole month on a formal contract at the company”.

Today, the aesthetic biomedical professional has two treatment rooms, one of them in a highly regarded business center. She invested R$ 300 thousand in equipment and more than R$ 50 thousand in new courses. “I never stopped studying. Today, I take every course possible”.

In practice, do you know what all of this means, beyond the numbers? “A dignified life for me and for my children”.

Is working in aesthetics worth it?

Besides the progress in her professional life and the benefits for her personal side, the aesthetic biomedical professional also notes other important reasons to invest in aesthetics and ozone therapy.

“Today I noticed that through ozone therapy I don't just treat the aesthetic dysfunction, but also self-esteem. I take care of people's health. I improve their quality of life. Besides making them happier”.

This way, she can see beyond the financial side. “That's why I say my work is very well paid in two ways: financially and through my patients' satisfaction”.

Why professionals can invest in aesthetics

Wanessa Vieira is a pharmacist who also saw her life change after starting to advance in her career through aesthetics. Since the drugstore took up so much of her time, she chose the Aesthetic Pharmacy course. This is another success story you can read.

Barbara Silva de Jesus is a biomedical professional and the change happened when she entered the Aesthetic Biomedicinemarket. “I have small children who demand a lot of care and, with my own clinic, I can organize my time”.

Arleyr Batista says Aesthetic Biomedicine was a turning point in her life. “I started investing soon after, and while still in the program I was setting up my own space to improve my knowledge and practice the techniques”. Today, she has two units open.

For Carla Camargo, knowledge “is the only truly safe and profitable investment”. And she says there is no minimum age or right age to invest in aesthetics.

“When someone tells me they are already over 30 and so won't study, I answer. I tell them that in 2 years they will be 32 anyway, with or without the postgraduate program. So let them be older and smarter”, jokes the biomedical professional, who is thrilled with her profession.
