Some stories spark the inspiration and desire that were missing to resume a dream that was interrupted. In the field of Aesthetic Pharmacy, where many potential professionals have heavy course loads to complete, it is common to see students who overcome challenges, don't give up on their goals, and change their lives.
In this article, you will be inspired by the story of Dr. Simone Maria de Lima Silva, from Carapicuíba-SP, who is a pharmacist and is in the final stage of her Postgraduate Program in Aesthetic Pharmacy. But the road to get here was long, and she still has a long way to go to reach where she wants to be.
“What motivates me are my dreams, and to achieve them it takes a lot of effort and dedication”
Aesthetic Pharmacy: Motivation, Routine, and Challenges
Besides the fact that the Aesthetic Health field provides great financial stability, the main goal that motivated her to enter this field was to offer better care to people, provide a welcoming approach, and help patients stick with their treatments.
However, when she was still in the middle of her pharmacy degree, Simone had to interrupt her studies for five years to take care of her son, who had health problems.
“I went back to school after I turned 30, with a lot of effort, dedicating myself to my studies, home, my son, and work”, says the pharmacist.
With a very intense and hectic routine, she had to manage her time to get everything done. She left early for college, then went straight to work, got home at night, took care of the house and her son, and after all that, sat down to study and stayed up until the early hours of the morning.
“Always with a lot of effort, I never failed a course in college, I was voted the best student in the class, and I earned a scholarship at USP for scientific work. But in the end, what I really wanted was to pursue aesthetics, and I decided to study in the field”, she says.
A Dream: Postgraduate Program in Aesthetic Pharmacy
Dr. Simone says she found Nepuga through Google searches looking for leading institutions that offered a Postgraduate Program in Aesthetic Pharmacy. “I chose Nepuga because the training period is 11 months, and that was very feasible for me”, she explains.
Currently, the postgraduate student is a pharmacist at a drugstore and is specializing in aesthetics in order to provide well-being and raise people's self-esteem someday. For the future, she plans to open her own aesthetic space, as well as continue studying, since in the field of Aesthetic Health, studying must be constant.
“Today, without a specialization it is harder to achieve financial stability. That's why I advise everyone who can to pursue a postgraduate program and dedicate themselves more and more to being the best professional for their clients and patients. Not everything is just about money; we deal with lives and feelings”, she advises.

Many factors can appear and interrupt a dream, but they must not become a full stop. In fact, during the Covid-19 pandemic, hybrid learning models have become more and more common, making postgraduate programs in Aesthetic Health more accessible.
