It was precisely her career as a manicurist and Nail Designer that sparked her eye for care, which she now also provides as an aesthetic biomedical professional.
As soon as I reached out to Dr. Samara to learn more about her career, I received an incredibly welcoming response. And I am not even her patient, yet I already felt that difference in treatment, typical of an attentive professional who stands out for it.
During our conversation, I had the chance to learn much more than that first impression, and that is what you will be able to discover too – beyond just an impression, being an agent of transformation in people's lives has truly been her life mission.
Dr. Samara Comparini told me that she can trace her professional motivations back to what she liked as a child: she dreamed of being a scientist, and she remembers that her curiosity made her want to always be reading, writing, and researching.
She also remembers her desire to care for people. In that regard, she told me: “I felt that need, and I felt that nothing would make sense if I could not transform someone else's life.”
Out of these areas of dedication, she decided that a degree in biomedicine would be a good choice. At first, she had research and teaching in mind, but aesthetics turned out to be an opportunity and a path where she could be very happy and fulfilled.
The Path to Becoming an Aesthetic Biomedical Professional
That interest in aesthetics began even before she thought about specializing in Aesthetic Biomedicine. She worked as a manicurist, and developing her skills led her to also work as a Nail Designer.
As she tells it: “Over the years in college I realized I would be unable to give up a career in aesthetics, so I decided to change fields but stay in the world of beauty and wellness.”
The passion that guides Samara's work is evident. She continues her work as a nail designer, during a transition to dedicate herself more and more to aesthetic biomedicine, and she is adapting the nail salon where she works so that it can also be used for aesthetic procedures.
So, besides her work as a manicurist and nail designer having turned Dr. Samara toward care through aesthetics, she also learned a lot about entrepreneurship in the process with the nail salon that carries her name, where she has even offered mentoring to other professionals who want to work with fiberglass and gel overlays for nails.
Speaking a bit about what fulfills her most in the profession today, her answer is: “Knowing that my hands are able to bring back a smile that had faded, bring back self-esteem that no longer existed, and feel people's gratitude for simply having listened to them and offered comfort for their pain and dissatisfaction!”
But the main lesson she takes away is about serving the public, on which she highlights commitment to patients and clients as the foundation for establishing yourself professionally, an attentiveness that becomes clear when listening and practicing compassion to understand their needs as well as possible.
These are not just words in Dr. Samara's case; it is clear that she truly applies this, that it is part of her personality and way of working.
When I asked about her training and other professionals who have been references in her career, she highlighted the path of Dr. Ana Carolina Puga, commenting: “the encouragement to keep pursuing until we reach all our professional and personal goals is incredible.”
The encouragement is great, and the new stage in her career as an aesthetic biomedical professional has bright horizons. She sees the need to keep specializing and practicing everything she already knows. And she is on the right track to become a great reference for other aesthetic health professionals as well.
