3rd Nepuga Lecture Series 2021: Alternative Therapies Applied to Weight Loss Are the Themes of Day Two

After the success of the first day, with the opening by the creator of the series, Prof. Ma. Dr. Ana Carolina Puga, and the talk by therapist Sandrine Billard, the 3rd Lecture Series brought alternative therapies to the academic debate as complementary allies of weight loss.

The first talk, given by professor and naturopath Alexia Cambria, addressed how Quantum and Natural Therapies can boost and act on weight loss. Along the same lines, Prof. Me. Dr. Joe Alves presented how Neural Therapy directly affects weight gain.

Both approaches show how weight loss is linked to the emotional and psychological. Besides being complementary, the theories presented on the second day also relate to all the studies presented on the first day of talks.

Quantum Therapy in weight loss: controlling binge eating and emotions through natural means

Professor and naturopath Alexia Cambraia opened the second day of the Series with the talk “Quantum Therapies Applied to Healthy Weight Loss,” in which she presented how natural resources detoxify and improve the functioning of the body.

According to the professor, when providing treatment the professional should always look at the patient as a whole, taking into account the four types of bodies a person has: physical, mental, emotional and energetic. So, for the treatment protocol to work, it is important “not only to do body readings in relation to physical symptoms.”

Regarding weight loss, the professor showed that the professional should not focus only on fat loss, but also on everything that leads to and results in the person having that weight.

“It's important to check whether the fact that the person is eating more calories than they need is related to some psychological or emotional issue. Because we are beings with an emotional, physical, mental and energetic body, if we don't look at the emotional issue, we may not be able to get as good a [weight loss] result as we would like,” explained Professor Alexia.

The naturopath presented the techniques and tools most often used to treat, mainly, the emotional side and the endocrine system, which affect weight gain, such as acupuncture, auriculotherapy, phytotherapy and aromatherapy.

But the highlight was ozone therapy, which besides promoting and boosting the patient's immunity, also works on weight loss and skin improvement, fighting cellulite, stretch marks and scars.

The professor also spoke about the novelty for 2022: the postgraduate program in Quantum Naturopathy. “We are still developing the pedagogical part, but we will train complete naturopaths, who will be able to do an exact reading of the patient and apply the main Quantum Therapy techniques to treat the biological terrain and promote health, self-esteem and quality of life.”

Neural Therapy applied to healthy weight loss

Prof. Me. Dr. Joe Alves continued the Series with the second talk of the day, in which he addressed how the nervous system works and affects weight gain.

As with Quantum Therapy, Neural Therapy shows how the professional should see the patient as a whole, which is why this field of study trains well-rounded professionals. “Because medicine today is divided into areas, but the body is one. And treatment should be done that way.”

The professor explained how the mind interprets actions, objects and everything external to the body, and how this affects emotions and stimulates the nervous, endocrine and immune systems. And this also affects weight loss and weight gain.

In the presentation, the doctor showed how food can also stimulate and bring good feelings, which can later lead to possible binge eating or to the patient seeking the good feelings that food causes in their body.

“Emotions often generate anxiety and a desire to  eat. That's because food releases positive factors, such as relaxation. […] With Neural Therapy we can work on the body's self-regulation and balance, avoiding hunger at odd hours and compulsion,” explained Dr. Joel.

The professor also presented techniques and methods used in Neural Therapy, both for health promotion and for weight loss, such as lymph node drainage.

Even with great theoretical depth, Professor Joel's talk was only a small part of all the content of the MasterClass in Neural Therapy, a fully online course that trains health professionals to provide complete integrative care, working with the nervous system and its stimuli to promote Aesthetic Health.

Besides the talks, during the event participants can enter to win exclusive gifts from the 3rd Lecture Series sponsors, distributed by raffle. On the second day, 2 kits of 1 cap and 1 turban each from Emmy were raffled, along with 1 Collagen System Facial Fluid from EstéticaBio.

The Series is completely free for Nepuga students. You can still sign up for the last day of the event, learn exclusive content on Weight Loss applied to Aesthetic and Integrative Health, receive micro-certificates for each talk and also enter to win the sponsors' gifts.
