Aesthetician and Cosmetologist Finds What Her Career Was Missing Through an Integrative Health Course

Helena Letícia is an aesthetician and cosmetologist from Rio Grande do Sul. She is also studying chemistry and works at a clinic dedicated to aesthetics, health, and well-being. Even with all these responsibilities, she felt an important point of development was missing in her career, and she looked for an integrative health course.

More specifically, she found the postgraduate program in Quantum Naturopathy, a specialization that can also be integrated with aesthetic health.

Because of her sensitivity, Helena began researching courses that could help her develop her potential in the energy field, which, in her view, has everything to do with other therapies in the health field.

She considers that the field she describes as subtle (energetic) is very important in other areas of work and practice. And she explains her view on this in more detail:

“Nowadays, we are looking more at this energetic side, because we know the physical structure behaves first in the energy field – our dysfunctions, what we carry, what we bring.”

An integrative health course full of therapeutic possibilities

Many therapies are explored throughout the specialization in Quantum Naturopathy that look at health in a way that is an alternative to conventional medicine. In the first module of this integrative healthcourse, the therapies explored were Microscopy, Radiesthesia, and Biomagnetism.

In this way, the health professional specialized in Naturopathy has access to different ways of observing and treating patients according to each condition and situation.

Combining holistic practices in the aesthetics field

Helena's case is an excellent example of how holistic therapeutic practices can be combined with other treatments, since she works in aesthetics and brings an integrated view to this field, seeing it as not strictly limited to physical treatments, but as having a very close relationship with other aspects of care.

During her training in Aesthetics and Cosmetology, she already noticed that patients were often not seeking only the aesthetic procedure itself, but also some kind of welcome, a way to find rest and relaxation.

Helena then sought to become a specialist in Naturopathy to try to meet these broader needs she already noticed within aesthetics. Very happy with what she has discovered throughout the course, she is already thinking about the treatment plans she will be able to offer once she graduates as a holistic therapist.

Among the forms of care in this vein, the aesthetician and cosmetologist highlights a special interest in the practice of Reiki, noticing a lot of affinity between this therapy and patient contact in aesthetics.

“I think everything is connected: what I feel from my patient, the techniques I have an affinity with… Once you're in this field, you can't leave anymore, because you channel the energy that is in you and that is in the patient.”

For those unfamiliar with the field of Quantum Naturopathy who want to better understand its possibilities for combination with aesthetics, Helena offers the example of a patient seeking a body treatment, but whose cause of dissatisfaction may not be addressed through aesthetic procedures alone, because of psychological interferences, eating dysfunctions, and so on.

It may not be part of the therapist's competencies to take care of all these fronts, but integrative health seeks to look at these different variables, try to understand the patient as a whole, and guide them in the best possible way.

Regarding the diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities explored throughout the Postgraduate Program in Quantum Naturopathy, we have already published here on the blog everything about the behind the scenes of a weekend of clinical immersions in this course, explaining in more detail each of the practices developed, their diagnostic and treatment possibilities.
