Dr. Ana Carolina Puga Opens the 3rd Lecture Cycle

The first day of the 3rd Lecture Cycle of 2021 featured two great specialists, Dr. Ana Carolina Puga and therapist Sandrine Billard.

Opening the event, Dr. Ana Carolina Puga stressed the importance of discussing the healthy weight loss process within aesthetic and integrative health and explained why this central theme was chosen.

She noted that the event runs for three days: “The topics were designed to complement each other, so students are encouraged to attend all the lectures to understand the subject as a whole.”

Healthy weight loss according to Dr. Ana Carolina Puga

The mother of Aesthetic Biomedicine pointed out that although she is a reference in facial treatments and facial harmonization methodologies, she enjoys and works a lot in body aesthetics, and recommends that professionals invest in this area which, besides growing, also enriches the range of services at an aesthetic clinic.

Using her own example, she talks about her weight loss process: “Over time I realized I wasn't losing weight just for aesthetics, but my health improved a lot, my sleep, my energy and my self-esteem.”

Presenting charts, the specialist showed that the percentage of obese people in the world has grown in recent years. Taking these factors into account, more and more patients will seek aesthetic health in order to lose weight.

However, healthy weight loss requires considering not only metabolic factors but also emotional ones. “When we talk about weight loss we talk about self-esteem, and what self-esteem is for me may not be for you or for your patient,” she said.

During her lecture, Dr. Ana Carolina spoke mainly about the importance of humanized care for patients seeking healthy weight loss programs in aesthetics. “Let's honor our title as Aesthetic Health professionals,” the doctor added.

To professionals who still doubted whether body aesthetics is a good niche, she left the following message: “Many professionals choose not to do body aesthetics because the effort also depends a lot on the patient; after all, the weight loss process depends on the procedures, but also on the patient's willpower.

But those who know how to work with body treatments do very well, and have loyal patients for life. It's worth investing.”

Stress in the healthy weight loss process

After the lecture by the mother of Aesthetic Biomedicine, therapist Sandrine Billard gave the lecture “How to Manage Stress in Healthy Weight Loss,” in which she discussed the emotional impacts of this process.

She spoke about the importance of treating daily stress to get better results in healthy weight loss, and taught 7 keys that change how patients perceive this process.

Also discussing the power of meditation, Sandrine led the participants in a group exercise and showed in practice how meditation works in the body and helps balance emotions and regulate stress.

During the opening of the event, students enjoyed a live band performance, and after the lectures they took part in the drawing of prizes from this edition's sponsors. The prizes drawn were a cap and a turban from the brand Use Emme and a facial fluid from Estética Bio.

Registration for the lectures is individual and per lecture, so those who want to attend the second day of the Lecture Cycle should visit the link and register through the student portal.
