Professionals who aim for career success need to devote study and dedication every day to reach the goal of earning a good income and being recognized in the market for the work they do. After investing in specializations, Antonio Fernando, an aesthetic nurse who earns a financial return, is already running a clinic that offers a range of aesthetic services.
Fernando has been a nurse for 20 years, having graduated in the city of Bebedouro. With two decades of experience, his vocation for human care is clear, whether in clinical or aesthetic nursing. Since the start of his patient care work, his focus has been on comprehensive patient care, supporting recovery and well-being.
With vast experience in various areas of clinical nursing, including urgent care and emergency, ICU and supplementary health, Fernando has spent more than a decade teaching in the nursing technical program, and for the past five years, after completing his master's degree, he has been teaching at a university in Bebedouro.
Despite his passion for nursing, Fernando acknowledges difficulties specific to the profession. Besides the usual pressures of playing such a crucial role, he faced the challenges of night shifts, fatigue and the impact on family life from irregular hours, which led him to look for alternatives outside the hospital setting.
“I believe that when we work as nurses, there is a great deal of pressure, not only from the profession, from having to be 100% correct in what we do, but also the night shifts, the fatigue, the toll on the family because of work schedules. That makes us seek more knowledge in order to leave the field”
Aesthetic Nurse Earns Financial Return by Opening His Clinic
As we can see, Fernando has many facets in nursing. Even while working in hospitals and having become a teacher, the passion and opportunities that come from aesthetics spoke louder, leading the aesthetic nurse to follow this sector. His foray into aesthetics happened during a postgraduate program, where he discovered the vast range of opportunities beyond the hospital setting. Seeing the entrepreneurial potential in ozone therapy, Fernando had the chance to challenge stereotypes and broaden his professional practice.
“Actually, I got to know aesthetics during a specialization in stomatherapy, and it has a specific curriculum component on ozone therapy, geared to aesthetics. That's where I saw that nurses can open up a new range of options in their profession. I saw that I wouldn't need to limit myself to hospital care, but could own my own business”.
Although fear of the unknown is gradual, Fernando learned that facing it is essential for personal and professional growth. His transition to aesthetic nursing was marked by challenges, but his technical background and prior experience made for a smooth adaptation.

Today, he is already running a clinic that offers a range of aesthetic services, and plans to expand his horizons with more confidence, investing in his own clinic and seeking the certification needed to consolidate his work in this promising field.
Academic Life
As a teacher, Fernando believes in the importance of actively passing on knowledge. For him, knowledge held back without being shared loses its value, and it is in interaction with students that experiences complement each other and skills are refined.
For Fernando, this transfer of knowledge can help new nurses improve patient care. In his view, the greatest challenge for a nursing professional lies precisely in this factor. The sector's daily developments greatly influence how each professional should work. With five postgraduate programs and a master's degree, Fernando speaks with authority when he says that attention to more humanized care can be fundamental to the success of the nurse/patient interaction.
“Passing on knowledge is very good. Knowledge kept to yourself is not valid knowledge. When you share it, you spread it, and another person adds their own experiences and ends up complementing a foundation, arriving at a final product that benefits patients”.
So much knowledge going unused would be a great waste. Combining his personality, the way he treats patients and his entrepreneurial spirit, Fernando is already earning a financial return working as an aesthetic nurse.
As the owner of a clinic that provides a variety of aesthetic procedures, Fernando says the time has come to invest a little more to advance professionally.
“I already work in my clinic, since I already have extracurricular courses such as botulinum toxin and mesotherapy, but after the postgraduate program, registered with the professional council, according to the required hours, I will work with more confidence and make the small investment I have to break that ice, the fear of moving forward and growing professionally”.
