Aesthetic Pharmacist Found “Comfortable Work” and “Financial Return” in Aesthetics

There are moments in life when it seems that nothing makes sense. Many people say it's rock bottom. But those moments demand a lot of courage and determination. It is then that many professionals realize the strength they have. The aesthetic pharmacist you will meet below went through this.

From difficult moments in her personal life, she realized she could bounce back. So, she found in Aesthetic Pharmacy an incredible chance to leave her comfort zone. Today, she has no regrets. More than that, she says she found work that is comfortable and offers financial return.

A pharmacist's work schedule

The pharmacy shift is one of the most common ways these professionals count and record their working hours. In our country, it is common for shifts to be 12 hours in a single day. It is the famous 12 x 36 schedule.

For someone newly graduated, at first, this may not seem like a problem at all. After all, it is in the day-to-day that people learn everything about the profession and gain the experience that the job market demands.

However, for many pharmacists, the long schedule can become a bigger problem in the future, and that is what happened to Neide Almeida de Macedo. For her, the best way out was to seek a specialization that allowed more flexible hours and greater financial return.

The beginning of the aesthetic pharmacist's story

Let's take a step back and understand how it all began. This part is important because you will surely relate to it. Neide always loved health and was sure she would study in this field.

So much so that after finishing high school, she began studying the options on the market and concluded she would pursue a degree in nursing or pharmacy. “I chose pharmacy precisely because I was already working in a pharmacy at that time.”

And that was more than 10 years ago, she recalls. Then she entered college to study Pharmacy. After the degree, Neide already imagined what would happen, after all, she was already part of the job market. And that was exactly the result. However, she got comfortable: “Time kept passing and I was always right there, the same way.”

The life change and the postgraduate program in aesthetics

The aesthetic pharmacist says she has two daughters and moved away. But the big turning point came with the end of her relationship, which was close to completing two decades. “That's when I had to flip the switch.” She gets emotional at the memory.

More than that, Neide describes a situation that is common to many women. “You have to pick yourself back up and climb out of the hole. And I thought: ‘I need to do something.’ That was when I decided to go into aesthetics and I don't regret it one bit.”

The professional speaks openly in saying she had to go through these changes in life to make decisions that would truly bring meaning to her profession. “I saw that I needed to do something different, something that made me feel good.”

Choosing the aesthetics field

With this storyline, a question you, the reader, may be asking yourself is: why did Neide choose the aesthetics field to specialize in and not another? She has an explanation for this, which involves personal taste and finances. See!

“I needed something in which I felt comfortable doing the work and that also had some return. Since I have two daughters, I need time to take care of them. And working in a pharmacy, from Sunday to Sunday, that is quite difficult.”

Another point to consider, in the aesthetic pharmacist's view, is that when a healthcare professional starts working with aesthetics, they can see a direct return, the kind that shows in patients' joy at the results of the procedures performed.

“It's a two-way return: you can improve the person's self-esteem and you can feel good because it's something you truly like doing. Because regardless of your financial return, liking what you do is very important.”

It takes courage to change!

Everyone going through a hard time in life or wanting to grow in their career can see that some moments don't happen by chance. They serve as the push for that turning point, which is what happened to this aesthetic pharmacist.

“Working in a pharmacy is not easy. It's Sunday to Sunday. We have shifts of 12 hours a day. It's quite tiring. It's not easy. So, for those of us who are pharmacists and work at the pharmacy counter, with a family and small children, it's really demanding.”

On the other hand, there are alternative paths that can be less winding in the profession. “Today, I can perform some procedures. Botox, fillers, mesotherapy and dermotherapy. In other words, these are procedures I perform regularly in private appointments.”

Pharmacy after 40

Another story worth knowing is that of Neife Ferreira. She spent a good part of her life running a compounding pharmacy until she decided to start her own business, becoming an aesthetic pharmacist. “My interest in advanced aesthetics emerged little by little and that is how the aesthetics clinic was born.”

Aesthetics that transforms lives

In the case of Cristianne Rodrigues dos Santos, her motivation for pursuing the postgraduate program in aesthetics was the search for time. That is, she wanted more time to be with her family and found in this specialization the best answer. Read the whole story.
