After years working in drugstores, Michele Araújo sees aesthetics as a chance to improve her quality of life and boost her career as an aesthetic pharmacist.
For more than 20 years, Michele Araújo has worked as a pharmacist. Involved in the health field, she gained ground through the career plan at the company where she works, but she felt the need to pursue a career in aesthetics, her passion.
In search of personal growth, she is specializing to become an outstanding professional and, in addition to achieving financial independence, contribute to the happiness of her future patients.
A Life Change: Boosting a Career as an Aesthetic Pharmacist
Faced with the opportunity to gain new skills, Michele Araújo entered the specialization knowing it is possible to work in aesthetics as a pharmacist.
During her 20 years as a pharmacist, she moved up in the profession through the career plan offered by the company, but when she saw no future opportunities, she saw in a career as an aesthetic pharmacist the chance to change her life.
Michele says she has always been passionate about helping people, which is why she decided to enter the health field, but the chance to be part of the process of improving people's self-esteem captivated her, and that is why she chose the specialization. “Although I like working in health, I like working with people's self-esteem even more,” she emphasizes.
For now, Michele works only in drugstores, but she already plans to be working only in aesthetic health in the near future.
Plans for the Future and the Dream of Owning a Clinic
Michele has already detailed how she intends to become a high-quality aesthetics professional. Her dream is to build her own clinic. With the desire to be an owner, she understands that the road may not be easy, but the reward is gratifying. She also does not rule out working at other clinics, but she has defined the goals she hopes to achieve. “Today I am still at the pharmacy, but I hope that in a few months I can be involved only with aesthetics. First I want the opportunity to work at a clinic, and then open my own and expand.”
With wisdom, Michele hopes to learn a lot about the field and absorb teachings, practices and skills to become a quality aesthetic pharmacist and care for her patients with professionalism and dedication. “My vision is to specialize in trichology, working with people over 40 or 50 years old, both men and women, mainly in cases of alopecia.”
Trichology is the health field dedicated to the study and treatment of hair and scalp. It covers aspects related to hair health, the diagnosis of problems such as hair loss, dandruff and scalp diseases, as well as treatments to maintain the health and aesthetics of hair.
Trichology is a promising and little-explored market for aesthetics professionals. Considered a symbol of beauty, hair is directly linked to the self-esteem of men and women.
As for alopecia, the term is used to refer to abnormal hair loss on any part of the body, but it is usually associated with hair loss on the scalp. There are several types of alopecia, including androgenetic alopecia (common baldness), alopecia areata (hair loss in circular patches), among others. Each type of alopecia has its own specific causes, symptoms and treatments. In Brazil alone, approximately 42 million people suffer from the condition.
Michele says that important factors led her to pursue the specialization. “I want to set a limit so that I can have quality of life. Today, at the pharmacy, the routine and the little time for personal matters, for family or even for planning a vacation do not give me the quality I am looking for, and I believe aesthetics will give it to me.”
Nearing the end of her postgraduate program, Michele wants to bring to aesthetics the care and attention she has given for more than 20 years as a pharmacist.
