The consequences of the floods that devastated the state of Rio Grande do Sul this year continue to be felt in many people's lives. Little by little, however, people in Rio Grande do Sul have been managing to resume important aspects of their lives, and Nepuga postgraduate students are finally getting the chance to return to clinical immersions in Porto Alegre, such an essential part of the journey to becoming specialists.
The return to practice is taking place at a new unit, located in the Praia de Belas neighborhood. The new unit was already undergoing renovations even before the flood period, which ended up delaying the work on site.

“The new space has already taken shape and is looking more beautiful and functional every day, and it will be opened soon so that we can welcome our students and clinic clients with a lot of love and care and every comfort”, says Dr. Jakeline Rheinheimer, the unit's technical manager.

With work still under way, the first clinical immersions of this resumption are taking place in the auditorium of the Walk Offices building, a space that was set up in the best possible way so that specialists in training could put into action the techniques and methods they have been learning, and gain the exchange of experiences that makes all the difference in the specialization process.

In the face of a tragedy like the one that devastated Rio Grande do Sul, losses and damage are not remedied overnight. Dr. Jakeline also says that this return to clinical immersions has been used to build a sense of solidarity among the postgraduate students. Together in person, they find the opportunity to better process what they went through, and to find the strength to move forward, both professionally and personally.
“Last week, we started the immersions thanks to the effort of the team and the students themselves, because we still don't have all the roads restored and we know how hard it is for many to get to the location”.
The technical manager continues: “The energy is one of a fresh start and of many good things prevailing. I believe Nepuga's purpose is in line with that: to transform the lives of health professionals for the better. I believe everyone wants that more than anything right now.”
The return of the immersions began on June 24, a week dedicated to the practice of ozone therapy, mesotherapy, facial and body assessment, as well as an introduction to some technologies used in aesthetics and also body harmonization using collagen biostimulators . This week, even more practice sessions take place, on July 8, 9, 11, and 12.
