You know those stories that inspire us to be better and overcome obstacles every day? This is one of them. Juliana Tironi Machado Barberato is an aesthetic biomedical professional who says career success came into her life, but not by chance.
After graduating, she kept studying. She earned a master's degree and completed the Postgraduate Program at Nepuga. Even so, she started her professional life working as a physician's secretary. Little by little, she gained experience and patients until she set up her own aesthetics room.
And anyone who thinks she had reached the peak of her success is mistaken. Today she teaches in about a dozen courses in the field and coordinates some of them. Interested in learning more about how it all happened? Keep reading.
A good surprise for the aesthetic biomedical professional!
When she looks back, Juliana gets emotional noticing how much her life has changed. She holds a degree in Biomedicine from Unisa (Universidade de Santo Amaro) in São Paulo. It was 5 years after graduating, and close to finishing her master's, that she discovered Aesthetic Biomedicine.
And it was by chance! That's one of those good surprises life gives us. In Juliana's case, it happened through Dr. Ana Carolina Puga. “I didn't have high expectations for aesthetics, but I chose to do a postgraduate program in the field for a reason.”
The reason is that she heard about a free class being offered at Nepuga. The idea was to show a bit more of the topics, the courses and what people would learn in that program, which was a pioneer across the whole country. The biomedical professional decided to go.
And that may have been the masterstroke for her success in an aesthetics career. After all, by attending just one class by the Mother of Aesthetic Biomedicine, she became interested in the classes and the subject. “I simply loved the class and everything about the subject, which would be covered in detail in the specialization.”
Market challenges for the aesthetic biomedical professional
After the Postgraduate Program came success in her aesthetics career, along with completing her master's degree. So the biomedical professional began teaching. “At the same time, I also moved into the hands-on side, at the aesthetics clinic, but in a different way.”
She says she started her career as the secretary of an endocrinologist who wanted to invest in aesthetics but did not yet have a team for it. Juliana was recruited and little by little earned her prominent place.
“Even though I already had my degree and specialization, I accepted the invitation because I saw I could grow in the profession. Little by little I gained experience and patients. As a result, in less than 1 year I already had my own space. That is, an aesthetics room inside the doctor's clinic.”
Today, more than 10 years into the field, the aesthetic biomedical professional is still in the same place, that is, the same clinic. But now as the doctor's business partner.
At the same time, she fell so in love with the field that besides seeing patients every day, she also coordinates about a dozen courses in the health field and teaches in some of them.
The pursuit of success in an aesthetics career
The aesthetic biomedical professional's success came with time and a lot of effort. The Postgraduate Program in Aesthetic Biomedicine opened doors for her, and it all began way back with that inaugural class by Dr. Ana Carolina Puga.
In recent days, she has been an advocate of specializing in aesthetics for professionals who also graduated in the same field as she did.
“For those who like it and want to enter the field, this is an option because aesthetics only keeps growing. There's an audience for everyone. You just need to know how to stand out in the market.” In fact, according to the industry association, the beauty market has grown more than 500% in recent years.
Juliana concludes by saying: “I recommend the Postgraduate Program so that other professionals can qualify and reach this dream profession.”
The aesthetics market in Brazil
Worldwide, the aesthetics market is expected to exceed US$124.7 billion by 2028, according to data from Grand View Research. That indicates a compound annual growth rate of 9.8%.
Brazil is among the highlights. Our country is considered the 3rd largest in the world in aesthetics, behind only the United States and China. Projections reach R$ 47.5 billion in the coming years. Many professionals are leaving formal employment (CLT) to invest in aesthetics.
Among all the innovations in the field, Aesthetic Biomedicine is one of the most deserving of attention. That's because it offers many opportunities such as facial harmonization, ozone therapy, botulinum toxin, microvessels, intradermotherapy, among others.
As we have seen, success in an aesthetics career is possible, although not easy. For that to happen, the first step is study.
