Raniele is a nurse, so she knows well how much health professionals need support. Learn about her journey and how important her decision to pursue a career in aesthetics has been in her life.
For just over 1 year, she worked in a hospital, facing an exhausting work reality, and thought she would never again make use of her training after deciding to leave the hospital to take care of herself and be with her own family, but that changed when she chose a career in aesthetics.
As she says:
“I pay off the FIES (Brazilian student loan) for a degree I wasn't using. Today, I have the opportunity to be a nurse and do aesthetics. So, thanks to my degree, today I pay off the FIES happily, because I have the opportunity to do aesthetics.“
The routine of a shift nurse
Going back to the beginning, to better understand Raniele Bruna da Silva's experience in hospital nursing, her experience of heavy wear and tear in the profession was compounded by the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, which greatly aggravated the worries of those who work, as it came to be called, on the front line.
Constant contact with fatalities, the lack of hope in the face of many severe cases, the fear of getting sick and infecting loved ones. These are concerns already latent in the daily lives of shift workers dedicated to caring for people's health.
And Raniele mentions all these concerns when she talks about how her hospital experience was harmful to her own health. She says she began to show signs of severe depression, which also greatly affected her self-esteem and even required medication.
“Nurses themselves need care too” – is her comment, which sums up a lot about the work regime of the profession, in which you train to care for others, devoting countless hours to education, constant improvement, and shifts that demand a lot from the body and mind of every professional in a hospital, clinic, or nursing home.
A career in aesthetics as a choice of self-care too
Not everyone who trains to work in health is willing to put their own health at risk. Without even getting recognition proportional to so much dedication. And the idea of being a “health professional for love” is not enough to fulfill what many want for their careers and their lives.
Living the reality of a hospital during a global pandemic, deciding whether or not to continue in a hospital career became more urgent. So Raniele chose to take care of herself and her family, leaving the nursery where she worked.

“Today, my priority is my family, so I have time. I didn't have time: I didn't have Christmas, I didn't have New Year's Eve, I didn't have birthdays, I didn't have my daughter's birthday. So you give too much of yourself, the pay is very low… We're not recognized, not financially. We don't work only for love, we need to have a financial return.”
Today, Raniele is specializing in Aesthetic Nursing, and already envisions a future very different from what she lived before in her profession.
The future of the aesthetic nurse
She still needs to finish the Postgraduate Program and obtain her certification to practice regularly, but already has her clinic almost ready for the near future. She also highlights the possibility of going to her patients, especially those with limited mobility.
On how this change came about, Raniele Bruna says she already really liked the field as a whole, and its ability to raise self-esteem, which can be transformative.
Despite this perspective of transforming the patient through aesthetics, she speaks with vivid excitement about the care she will be able to offer with Ozone Therapy, which helps control infections, heal wounds, and can also be an ally in asepsis for aesthetic procedures.
“The recommendation is for each person to drink 100 ml of ozonated water per day, to give your body a cleanse. Your body needs ozone. And today, ozone is being a source of life for people, it's a very effective alternative, with results.” says the nurse.
Soon, Raniele will once again be able to make a difference in people's well-being, putting into practice all the care she has been training to offer. And from now on, in a much more rewarding way, also respecting her own health and without missing essential moments with her family.
