Dr. Diogo Branco is the coordinator of the HOF (Orofacial and Surgical Harmonization) specialization at Nepuga. At the end of last year, he was interviewed by the team at IstoÉ magazine and talked about facial harmonization procedures, which remain a market trend.
The IstoÉ magazine content
The magazine noted that in 2022 the medical aesthetics market was valued at US$ 99.1 billion, a figure collected from the report Aesthetic Medicine Market Size & Growth. The projection is that by 2030 the sector will expand by 14.5%.
See what Dr. Diogo said:
“Facial harmonization is a very good field, but it can never be seen as something simple or trivial. Every procedure must be done with mastery and caution. Today, several professions can perform facial injectable procedures.”
The conversation with the magazine took place together with Dr. Thiago Moura. They talked about 2 new projects related to the topic of facial harmonization: HOF in Science and HOF in Safe.

HOF in Science
HOF in Science is focused on teaching health professionals how to read and interpret scientific articles in the field. And this will be done through social media posts. See how the coordinator of the HOF specialization explains the project:
“Every time health professionals, students, and patients see a “HOF in Science” seal on a social media post, they can be sure it has real scientific backing.”
And he adds: “Nowadays, it's common for people to use arguments like there's an article about this or I read it in an article. The mere existence of an article doesn't guarantee that it's useful. You need to know how to read critically to identify whether it's really important.”
HOF in Safe
The other project, which was conceived by Dr. Thiago Moura and received full support from Dr. Diogo Branco, came from a situation that commonly happens in their daily work: when many health professionals ask for help in cases of clinical failure and complications.
“Thiago and I are used to receiving messages from professionals asking for help in these cases. So the idea of the project is to create content related to safety in aesthetic procedures in dentistry, aiming at the best solutions and at adverse effects.”
In a second phase, Dr. Diogo says they are also thinking of having a communication channel through which professionals can reach out to the specialists when they need help.
