This March, the Nepuga campus in Ribeirão Preto opened scheduling for hands-on classes held from March 5 to 16. Postgraduate students and course students came from all over the region to put into practice what they had learned at home, online and in classes via zoom.
These were days of lots of learning in aesthetics and ozone therapy, and lots of networking too, in which postgraduate students, professors and doctors shared experiences and added more than techniques to their lives: they added value.
On some days, Prof. Dr. Ana Carolina Puga was present at the hands-on classes and closely followed the development of the aesthetics professionals. See what happened on those days in Ribeirão Preto.
Dr. Ana Carolina joins hands-on classes at the Nepuga Ribeirão Preto Campus
On Sunday (13th), Dr. Ana Carolina, founder and owner of Nepuga, attended the Injectables II hands-on class, gave tips and advice, treated model patients and taught the postgraduate students present how to perform the PugaCode method.
“Applying toxin is like riding a bike; the musculature doesn't change. There's the eyeball mark, but you'll always be taking a risk, with possible complications, putting in more doses than you should, whereas with the method there's no such risk,” explains Dr. Ana.
Regarding the content taught over all these days, the Mother of Aesthetic Biomedicine spoke about the importance of committing to training in the hands-on classes and outside them too.
“Commitment is the main part of your success. You're here, investing time and money, so ask questions, clear up all your doubts, don't leave it for later. Stay until the last minute and make the most of it,” advises Dr. Ana.
Besides learning time, there was also a relaxed moment, when Dr. Ana Carolina invited all the female postgraduate students to record a viral video for social media. The content is available on the accounts @dra.anacarolinapuga and @nepugaposgraduacao.
Postgraduate student testimonials
When our marketing team visits Nepuga campuses and units around the country, besides capturing images and videos of the hands-on classes for our social media and communication channels, it's also a free moment for postgraduate students – those who feel comfortable – to talk about their experiences with Nepuga and with Aesthetics.
On Sunday (13th), two postgraduate students talked about their hands-on class experience and what they think of the journey of Dr. Ana Carolina Puga, whom they met in person at the Ribeirão Preto campus.
“I think the fight she had is sensational, opening the doors of Aesthetic Health to health professionals, a field that used to belong only to physicians. So I have always admired her, because I have a lot of doctors in my family, and as a pharmacist I even saw some prejudice toward me, and sometimes we understand even more when it comes to drugs. I kept watching her videos and ended up with total admiration, so I chose to do my Postgraduate Program in Aesthetic Pharmacy at Nepuga because of her and all that admiration.”
Flavia Maria Gomide Martins – Postgraduate student in Aesthetic Pharmacy
“I think she's wonderful; the pioneer of aesthetics was a woman, not just because she's from the beauty field, but because she had a very big fight and faced many barriers. It's a very beautiful fight, I admire it a lot. Today I had the pleasure of meeting her, because we know her from videos and her work, but in person she turned out to be a very down-to-earth and welcoming person.”
