After finishing their dentistry degree, many professionals begin to think about the opportunities available in the market. One path is specialization. And the HOF course is in high demand. But what is HOF? You'll find out in the next few lines.
And with a twist: we have a bonus too! Paulo Hideki, a student in Nepuga's HOF course, recorded a video showing the day-to-day of the clinical immersion during his studies. In less than 1 minute you can get an idea of what the hands-on classes are like. Check it all out!
What Is HOF in Aesthetics
What is HOF? HOF stands for Orofacial Harmonization (Harmonização Orofacial in Portuguese). The field involves various aesthetic processes and dental applications that aim to create balance among the parts of the face. Therefore, an HOF specialist is a dentist qualified to work with these practices.
This dental specialty is booming worldwide, including its main procedures. Among them: botulinum toxin, hyaluronic acid fillers, biostimulators, microneedling, intradermotherapy, PDO threads, and more.
One of the biggest draws of this postgraduate program is the dentist's salary. While an oral rehabilitation dentist earns a little over R$ 1.2 thousand and oral and maxillofacial trauma dentists more than R$ 4.5 thousand, the aesthetic dentist earns a salary above R$ 10 thousand.
So, can a dentist perform aesthetic procedures? In fact, yes. And this is authorized under Resolution 198 of 2019 of Brazil's Federal Council of Dentistry. Now that you know a little about what HOF is, watch Hideki's video below.
Paulo Hideki's Clinical Immersion Video
Paulo Hideki is a dental surgeon who invested in the Orofacial and Surgical Harmonization course because he knows this differentiator is very important, especially for him, since he is at the start of his career but already has an incredible market vision.
So he made a vlog (a type of short video for social media) about some of his clinical immersions, the hands-on classes. The content also helps explain what HOF is. The clips were posted on our YouTube channel and you can watch them below:
And for those who enjoyed Paulo's video, keep in mind that we have told his story before. In fact, we highlighted each phase of his career: the beginning, the goal, the first steps, and the opportunities that are arising from the HOF specialization.
