Ozone in the Treatment of Coronavirus: An Ally for Treating Covid-19 Sequelae

Learn all about Ozone in the treatment of coronavirus!

The relationship between ozone gas and coronavirus has been widely discussed and studied since the beginning of the pandemic. Research on the effects of treatments with this therapy has brought several positive results, showing improvement even in coronavirus sequelae.

Being a systemic pathology, covid-19 causes complications in various organs and organ systems. However, those affected by these consequences find in ozone therapy a treatment method.

“Ozone therapy is a complementary therapy for various pathologies, in various diseases. So it complements and helps in many cases”, notes M.Sc. Ana Carolina Puga.

Through ozone therapy it is possible to prevent worsening and even reverse some of the main damage caused by covid. This is because, by using its healing properties in treatments, the technique acts positively on various organs and functions of the body.

One Reason to Apply Ozone in the Treatment of Coronavirus

Widely used by various professionals, associations such as Aboz are fighting to open the way for research and possible implementations. However, some professionals in the field have already qualified and use ozone therapy techniques personally and professionally.

This is the case of Dr. Solange Maria, an aesthetic pharmacist who incorporates ozone therapy into her protocols. She says that after losing her father and her father-in-law to covid, she was deeply affected, and when her brother and mother also contracted the virus she decided to take action.

“I saw that ozone helped a lot in the post-covid condition, and even in some protocols for covid since it helps the immune system. So when my mother got covid, I helped cure her with ozone, and from there I started incorporating ozone therapy and complementing the treatments I offer,” she says.

The doctor also reports that, from the experience she had applying it to her relatives, the outcome was very positive. Dr. Solange says she observed an immediate improvement in symptoms and that it also enabled a faster recovery for both, proving the results of ozone in the treatment of coronavirus.

How Ozone Works in the Treatment of Coronavirus

Dr. Cynthia Heckert Brito is a dentist, ozone therapy specialist and faculty member in Nepuga/FAPUGA’s postgraduate program in ozone therapy and explains how ozone works in the context of covid-19.

“Ozone can be used preventively against covid, due to the strengthening of the immune system, through its antimicrobial and regulatory action on the system. So it is well worth using both before and after”.

In addition, the doctor explains how ozone is applied in the treatment of coronavirus.

“We can say that covid affected the respiratory system of these patients, and many of the sequelae were due to hypoxia, the lack of oxygenation in the tissues. So ozone gives oxygenation back to the body”.

The specialist says that the greatest demand for the treatment is to reduce sequelae involving loss of smell and taste.

“Auricular ozone application drains the nasal sinuses, stimulating repair in that region and improving it. The gas can also modulate some hormonal issues such as inflammatory cytokines, improving inflammation and both muscle and joint pain”, she says.

Some of the best-known properties of the gas are:

  • Reduce inflammatory conditions;
  • Stimulate blood circulation;
  • Restore cellular functions.

This is because oxygenation of the body is also ensured, which greatly improves the action of the immune system and also revitalizes the functions of the organs and their biological systems.

“With oxygenation, any repair and recovery process is better, without a doubt, which is why it is able to treat some of the sequelae”, concludes Dr. Cynthia Brito in an interview about ozone in the treatment of coronavirus.
