In this article, dental surgeons share what it's like to work with injectables, even during the postgraduate program. We all know that taking a specialization is an investment in our own dreams. And when I talk about investment, I don't mean only money, but time, dedication, focus on learning, and above all putting into practice what we are experiencing, so that the learning process is complete and we can leave with the specialist title while truly being specialists.
That is why I was very happy to see that the students of the Nepuga HOF class are already working with injectables, even during their postgraduate program. It is very gratifying to see that one of the differentiators championed by Dr. Ana Carolina Puga, creator of Nepuga, remains the standard for most professionals who come through her educational institution.
Because more than specializing and providing hands-on confidence, one of the things Dr. Ana Carolina always says, whether in the classroom or giving talks around the country, is that the postgraduate program will give you the specialist title, but the ones who build their successful career, who decide what that success will look like, are the students.
That is why I was truly happy to talk with the Orofacial Harmonization class this April, while following one of the Clinical Immersion modules.
The vast majority of the class told me they are already practicing in their offices, seeing their patients. These are dentists who previously did not administer botulinum toxin and are now confident doing so, dentists who are ready to do lip fillers, apply biostimulators and threads, and treat a patient, harmonizing them from start to finish.
Dental surgeons share what it's like to work with injectables: the first procedures they started performing in their offices
Chatting with the professionals and students, I was able to ask who was already performing injectable procedures in their office, and they told me what they already felt confident doing and what they would start practicing after the hands-on module I followed.
“I have already done botulinum toxin on some colleagues and family members, because I felt more confident about the injections to start with; the feedback and results have been very interesting. Now, after this module on fillers, biostimulators, and threads, I already feel more confident performing those procedures too,” says Diogo Bush de Andrade; in fact, Dr. Diogo was one of the students who did my lip filler, a subject for other posts.
Dental surgeon Paulo Hideki is also already working with injectables. During his hands-on classes he takes the chance to record stories, take some photos and videos, and promote his work on his professional Instagram.
“I have already seen a return; I plan to invest in that when I finish the specialization, in digital marketing to attract patients, because the little I do already has an impact and results in bringing in patients,” he explains
Practice that brings financial return even during the HOF specialization
What many of our students report, since this is not a trait only of Nepuga's HOF class but is already part of the learning culture of our students as a whole, is that even during their studies it is already possible to earn a financial return from the most profitable Orofacial Harmonization procedures.
Starting to see your patients while you study lets you begin building a client base and gives you an extra source of income to help with your investment in the specialization; in other words, it is the attitude of someone who wants professional success in this field.
Dental surgeons eagerly await the next module, which will be surgical
The next Clinical Immersions are already scheduled; it will be the surgical module, the most anticipated of the entire specialization.
“I really want to see this type of surgery, they are different, the expectation to learn is high,” explains Diogo Bush.
We will certainly be there again to follow this Clinical Immersion and bring the behind-the-scenes for the record.
